Mr. Arthur Stewart, of Curry's
Corner, Nova •Scotia, was here visit-
ing his sister, Mrs. Norris Sillery
and also attended the Hamilton re-
union July lst.

The WMS and WA of Cavan
Church met July 2 in the schoolroom
of the church. The W. A. president,
Mrs. James McClure, opened the
meeting with the hymn "0 God of
Love", Psalm 714 was read respon-
sively from the hymnary. The secre-
tary's report was given and thank -
you cards were read by Mrs, T.
Betties. WMS president, Mrs. Dodds,
offered prayer. The offering was re-
ceived and response sung. The WMS
Society will sponsor two girls to
Alma College. St. Thomas. Mrs. R.
Bolton presided for the devotional
part opening with poem "He Does
Care", by Mr. J. Beattie. Scripture
was read and Mrs. W. McSpadden
offered prayer. Hymn 516 was sung.
The theme "World Peace" was tak-
en by Mrs. L. Bolton. Mrs. F. John-
ston, Mrs. R. Bolton and Mrs. Wur.
McSpadden. hymn 285 was sung as
a prayer. Lunch was served by
.Circle 1.
The Young Peoples' Union of Ca-
van Church are (planning a "Variety
Night" on July 21st. Donations of
home made candy and articles for
fish pond will be gratefully received.
Miss Florence Saunders, Porcu-
pine Plains, Sask., spent the week-
end with Mr. and Mrs. W. Dodds.
Mr, and Mrs. Mel Nichol and
family, Stratford, visited with Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Blanchard.
Mr. Wilbur Chambers has taken
a position in Preston.
Mr. and Mrs. Robt. McClure, Mr.
John McClure and Ethel visited with
Mr. and Mrs. 'Elgin Dale, Hullett.
Many friends of Mr, Win, Church
will be sorry to hear he has blood
poison in his hand.
