DUBLIN
Dublin Continuation School News
Our St. Patrick's Concert proved
very successful with a large crowd
in attendants. The main attraction
of the evening was our Harmonica
Band with Mother Anastasia direct-
ing. We favored the people with a
number of Irish tunes and other se-
lections which were enjoyed by
everyone, A number of Irish favor-
ites were sung by the Glee Club,
accompanied by Helen Horan, Re-
gardless of our colds we all manag-
ed to harmonize. We were greatly
honored by the talents of former
students—Maurice Dillon and Jack
Kelly, and Keith Belly who joined
with others from the school, Marie
Dalton, Helen Horan, Marion Roach,
Leonard Maloney and Bob Kelly in
a double quartet called "My Moth-
er's Rosary". We also were deeply
honoured to have little Paul Horan
step dance. He was a big attraction.
We wonder if many could do as well.
Twelve of our girls looked very
impressing in their gowns of pastel
shades, each carrying roses and
that number. Marion Roach and
Marie McLaughlin and Margaret
O'Rourke gave very interesting re-
citations, "Father had a way with
'Dogs", "Nora and the Twins" and
"The Apostle of Ireland". Our con-
eert was concluded by the band
playing "Goll save the Queen".
Nov,' we are back to our school
work and are surrounded by exams.
We hope our teachers are kind-
hearted in marking the papers„ We
all intend to work hard and hope to
have good results.
Question of the week: We wond-
er why 008 of the fifth form spends
her leisure time in an open-air lim-
ousine while her mate enjoys watch-
ing television?
