The February meeting of the Catholic Women's League was held in the High Sehool on Monday even- ing Feb. 2. The president, Mrs. John Meagher,opened the meeting with prayer, The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Mrs. Earl Healy. Mrs. Klinkhammer gave the tr'easurer's report. It was decided to hold a progressive euchre party at the home of Mrs. John Meagher on Wednesday evening, Feb. 4. The proceeds to be used for charitable purposes. There was some discus- sion about holding a marathon eu- chre during lent. The final decision was held over pending further in- formation, A very impressive read- ing on "Let your light go Shine" was given by Mrs. Joseph Delaney. A vote of thanks was expressed by Mrs. John Meagher, The meeting closed with prayer. HENSALL Miss Helen Moir of London spent the weekend with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Baynham. Mrs. R. M. Kirby is visiting with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs, R. The Mission Band (net on Satur- day with Alice Sorsdahl presiding. The scripture lesson was read by Alice Howe. Mrs. Duncanson read a story of Dr. David Livingstone and Dr. Robert Moffatt. Plans were made for a Valentine party to be held on February 14th. Miss Margaret Walker presided at the Y.P.S. meeting on Sunday even- ing. A passage of scripture was read by Carolyn Walker and Rev. R. Duncanson led in prayer. Mrs, R. D. Sadler sang a solo and a splendid topic was given by Mar- garet Walker. The Friendly Few Farm Forum met ,on Monday night at the home 'of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lawson with a good attendance. The subject was "The Farmer and the Public". Members of one group thought there is a better understanding now be- tween rural and urban centres. TheY also suggested one way of clarifying the situation by inviting people of nearby towns and cities to visit the farms and observe for themselves the advantages and disadvantages of farm life. rn this way they would gain a true perspective. Winners for progressive euchre were: ladies, Mrs. Verne Dale, Gents, Mr. Verne Dale; consolation, Mrs. Borden Brown and John Jewitt. Refresh- ments were served. The forum will meet next Monday night Feb. 9th at the 'home of Mr. and Mrs. Verne Dale. Mrs. Austin Dexter entertained the members of her group and a number of other ladies to a quilting party on Wednesday of this week. Dublin Continuation School News Recently we received a letter from Brother Martin (35 i o h a e 1 Walsh) a student of our school in the "thirties" who is now principal, of the Presentation Bros. School in Montreal. He congratulated us on our column and told us he found the news •of interest each week.
