operated on last Thursday far ap-
pendicitis at Scott Memorial Hos-
pital, However, site .is improving as
well as can he expected. On Sunday
their three-year-old daughter hjd an
x-ray 'taken as she was suffering from
a fall she 'sustained a sillort time ago.
'I'•he x-ray showed there. was an in-
fection in tthe alible which had to Poe

learn both are improving,

Mr. Walter Holmes has gone to
Kent county Where he has obtained
employment for the .winter in the vi-
cinity of Chatham.
Bean 'harvesting and buckwheat
threshing have been held up owing to
extremely unfavorable weathercon-
ditions.
