the basement of the church, Thurs-
day, Oct. 14th at 3 tp,m. The Presid-
ent,g
Mrs. Lain in the chair. After
the regular !business, Mrs. tH. Law-
rence, captain of circle 4, then took
charge, reading the Scripture lesson
and leading in prayer. Three -memb-
ers of the circle-- itrs. iainchley,
Mrs, Finlayson and Mrs. Crich, gave
very interesting and instructive pa-
pers on the list chapter of the new

near world," telling of the difficulties
and .hardships of the pioneer preach-
ers and missionaries of the early
