Mrs. Ellen Burns held a reunion
for her family and friends to celebrate
'her sevettty-eighth birthday with her
family aijd 'their families. Sweet peas,
petunias and ferns decorated 'the table.
Not since June 2, .14116 had such a
calamity ,as that of last Thursday vis-
ited Logen township. Three miles of
fine property west of 1H'ighway 23 on
con. 1112 was wrecked by high wind fol-
lowed by'.rain. Material was not avail-
able for 'quick repairs. Mrs. Antoin-
ette Gaffney was a heavy 'loser. Her
!twin sons, nine years old, and Ted
Uniac had just left the baen when it
was unroofed.
.Mrs. J.' J. McCarthy had as guests
at ''Erin Lodge", Logan, on Sunday,
all of ,her fancily with their children.

ahnost epidemic proportionin some localities.

On the western edge of Dashwood there is a flower garden which is
admired he passersby. Many years of loving labor by diminutive 87 -year-

old names will be found here; as for example, in the picture above, Mr.

Morenz lived at Seaforth for twenty years; his reminiscences art quaint,,
too. He tells of a well known Seaforth man, long since passed on, who
tipped the scales at over 2110 pounds; the little woman was only a couple
pounds less; ordinary .springs and beds soon went on sit down
strikes" at such punishment, so one day the man ordered a specially made
bed at the furniture factory, Mr. Morenz is a native of Germany; .his
'cousin is the father of the late °`Howie"„Morenz.
