LISTOWEL MAN GETS 14 DAYS
Residents to the west :of Seaforth
have had plenty of excitement the
last icoupie of weeks; what with a fa-
tal •accident, 'besides a cow killed by
'the night C.INJR, train at Andrew Cro-
zier's, six cows of Gordon Richard-
sons killed by lightning, a haying ac-
cident at 'McCartney s. On Monday
of this week another highway accid-
ent occurred at Holland's corner on
No. 8 'Highway when Orlie Rogers,
317, and Earl Bean, 215, Listowel, took
to the ditch while returning hone
from the L.IO.L, celebration at 'Clin-
ton, Three guard rail pnet5'and a tele-
graph pole were felled by the on-
slaught The men received medical at-
tention. On Tuesday Rogers was sea
tended to 14 days in jail on a charge
of drunk driving.

Scott Memorial Hospital with a com-
p'ound fracture of his right arm, the
result of a fall from his bicycle.
Mrs, Stephen Durham, who spent
last week at the home of Mr. and
Mrs, Wes. Nicholls, has returned to
her hone at Reed City, Mich,
Mr. and Mrs. Ruskin Keyes and
little son, who have been visiting with
the fornrer's parents, Mr. and Mrs.

SCENE OF FATAL ACCIDENT

day evening. Mr, Jack Storey of Seaforth was killed when his wagon was struck by a car
containing Mrs. Grace Watson and her mother, Mrs. Mosley, both of Goderich. At 'the
tight is Stewart Geddes of Seaforth who was deputised as guard until the scene was
viewed by the jury next morning:

During the electric storm on Sun-

Mill Road, had the misfortune to
have six cattle killed by lightning.

Stevens, last Thursday.

friends in St. Thomas.

etion in this vicinity, several farmers
finishing at the end of the week.
Hoeing and weeding operations
