:\ very delightful reunion of the
Pepper fancily was held on Saturday.
July 3rd, in , the beautiful picnic
grounds at Stratford. It was the 40th
annual picnic and eighty people
were ptt-sent. The 193,7 gathering
was in charge of President, Mr, John
Pepper. Brucefield; Secretary, Miss

MISS JULIA MURPHY
The death occurred in London on.
I ut clay, jnly 6tH of a former resid-
ent of Seaforth, Miss Julia Murphy,
in her 89th year. Miss Murphy was
the last surviving member of a fam-
ily of early :settlers on the Huron
road. She was born on lot 30, corn. 1',
Hibbert, two and a half miles east of
Seafortli, and lived there until corn-
ing to 'Seaforth 'where she resided
for many years. D'ue to failing health
she returned to Hibbert and lived
with her brother and the past five
years had been living in London.
. 'Her brother, the late Francis Mur-
phy, died at the old homestead in
April of this year. The funeral will
take place Thursday morning at 9
o'clock from the residence of Mr.
John Devereaux, lot 1, con, 1, Tuck-
ersnlith, to St, Colu.nlban Church.
Rev. Father D'antzer will officiate.
interment will be made in the St.
"nlunthan cemetery.
Mr. John Murphy of Georgetown
is attending the funeral,

A very enjoyable and successful

evening at St. Jances' Church, Sea-
fortli, when -a large crowd was pres-
;nt Supper was served during the

for prizes were1st, ten dollars, Mrs.
M. J. Crawley; end, ten dollar, Ar-
thur Anderson; 3rd, five dollars, Mrs.
\\'m, Hart. Proceeds amounted to
about $400.

Death came suddenly to Mrs.
Janet McMichael Snell at Toronto
on Thursday morning, (July 1st. She
was the youngest daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs , 'Thomas Mci3fichael,
iHullett township, and had been the
otily surviving member ee a family of
ten, '5 hatvin•g died with the last 1116
months. Her early life was spent in
,Huron County; lin her' later life - she
had lived five years in Toronto, two
in 'Collingwood and the past 113 years
at 3 'Grosvenor Ave, S., Hamilton
She attended St, Giles' United
Church. The funeral took place from
the home of her niece, Miss !lean
Turner, Seeforth, and was conducted
by Rev, Mr, ]east of the (First :Pres-
byterian •Church. Mr, J'amles Scott
sang her 'favorite selections, "The
Old Rugged Cross" and Jesus, Lov-
er of my Soul" The pallbearers were

She is survived by one daughter,
