Mrs. F. Devereaux is in London
this Week attending a meeting of the
' Diocesan executive of the Catholic
Women's League.
• Miss Margaret White, a graduate
nurse from Grace .Hospital. Toronto,
has just completed a four -months'
Post 'graduate oourse in surgery. in
johns Hopkins Iliospital in Baltimore,
Maryland. This week she joins the
staff of operating room nurses in that
hospital.
• Mrs. S. j, Spencer returned on Fri-
day after an extended visit with rela-
tives at Brampton.
The farm in Tuckersmith of the
Mims Fowler on (Highway no, 6, two
miles west of ads:font:it, has 'been sold
to fames Reynolds and Sons of the
same township, 'The Misses 'Fowler
are retaining the .house where they
will continue to reside for rhe present.
Mrs. Henry Hoggarth 'underwent
an appendicitis operation at the hos-
pital oii Sunday 'and is recovering
nicely.
Ieliss E. Davidson 'has •returned af-
ter spending the winter at 'Mousejaw.
Mr. and .Mrs. 'Gordon IHays and
Mr, and Mrs. Louis Brat! from De-
troit spent the week encl with their

Feast 'conducted anniversary services.

Miss 'Marjorie Toll has been ap-
pointed to attend the girls' conference
in Guelph in May as a delegate from
the Auburn Branch of the Women's
Institute.
A.farewell parity was given in the
Foresters 'Hall on Friday night to
Mr. and Mrs. B'ert Keyes, who have
been at the OP.R. station here for
four years. During the evening :Mr.
and Mrs. Keyes were presented .with
a fernery and a smoking stand.
Rev. Frank Hutchinson of Toron-
to was the speaker in Knox ,Presby-
terian Church on Sunday.
The river has been very high this
past week but has receded some-
what now.
!Gormley Thompson arrived on
Friday from Timminsto be with his
father, W. J. Thompson who has
been critically ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Tho, Wilson and
Miss: Sharp were in Parkhill tut Sun-
day.
Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Manning and
Phyllis of Londeshoro; 'Mrs, H.
Chesney and family of Seaforth were
with Mrs. J. D. Howatt on Sunday.

Mr. Pat McConnell and N1r. Frank
Stapleton of Toronto were week end
visitors at their homes in the village,
Mr. John Redmond, who was in the
Scott Memorial 'Hospital in Seaforth
has gone to London to his sister, Mrs
Crawford. 'His friends wish to see
him back soon and hope he mill be
much improved.
Me. Patrick Jordan has purchased
the residence of the late Mrs. Staple-
ton. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan intend to
move, in about a month.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Pethielc were
in London on Saturday.
Mrs, John Brennan of Stratford
was a recent visitor at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Murray.
MN, Alex. Darling was a week
end visitor with friends in Stratford.,
The Ladies' Aid 'held a very succ-
essful meeting at the home of Mrs.
Wi4on on Wednesday afternoon.
