l:.te W. C. Davis and Mrs. Darin of
Hemet , and was in. his 48th year and
had been in the banking business for
years, leaving it. to go into mer-
cantile business about five_years ago.
He leaves to mourn his loss his wile,
formerly Miss Jane •Caldwell of -Win-
- gaper. Man„ also his mother- Mrs, W,
C. Davis and sister, Mrs A, W. E.

Corbett• Re-union—The. Corbett re-
union which was held at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. 'Fred Corbett of Hay
Township„ and which is the old
Homestead, was held on Saturday,
July 28th. Tables were set on the
lawn and were beautifully decorated
'and loaded with good things to tat.

the meal. During the afternoon ball
games, races and other sports - were

of Carmel Presbyterian Church, Hen -
sell, held their July meeting on
Thursday afternoon, July 26th at the
home of Mrs. Thos. Hudson. This
was a'pictic meeting when the Soc-
iety entertained the home helpers.
There .was a good attendance when
at 3 o'clock Mrs. Cameron took the
chair and opened the meeting by
singing Hymn 399 ,and the opening
prayer followed,. The Bible lesson
was read from the 91lst Psalm by
Miss Helen Snaith, The -secretary
then palled the roll, the members res-
ponding with one of God's promises,
Mrs Edwards, the Presbyterial
Home Helpers' secretary, gave a
most interesting address full 'of help-
ful hints to home helpers, _'Mrs. A.
Dougal sang a solo, accompanying
herself on the guitar, which was en -
enjoyed
very much. The business
period followed, conducted by the
president, lt' (Rev.) \V, A. Young
and the offering was received. tars,
Robt. Cameron tool: the topic, Wo-
men of the East, which w'as both int-
eresting and. instructive. IIy. No. 553
was then stmg and _firs. Young clos-
ed the meeting with prayer. A social
hour followed when a dainty lunch
was served. A hearty vote of thanks
w -as extended to Mfrs. I-Lndson for her
generous hospitality.

Robert Paterson, Sr,, aid other rela-
tives in this vicinity.
Miss Stella Ingram of London vis-
ited over the week end with relatives
and also attended the Dougall reun-

Staving off a fighting Kitchener
attack in the last half St: Colmmait
ideated the Kitchener Rangers 4-3

Kitthener played a more clever brand
football they were unable to cope

Columnan eleven. Before the Kitch-
ener rally starter' in the last half St.
Crltnt baa enjoyed a four goal lead,
appeared to he on the way to win by
a big margin. The Rangers' plays
began to click, however, and trite

the Irish hemmed in their own end of
the field. Kitchener rattled in three
goals in succession and seemed to
have a margin of the play which
should give them a ,tie. However, they
were unable to drive in the 'Last goal
