The regular meeting of the W.I.
was 'held in the community hall or
March 29th with over one hundred in
attendance. Meeting opened with the
president, Mrs. Adams, in the chair.
The opening ode was sung and the
Lord's prayer repeated in unison, The
plans for the annual pie social to be
heli' on April 7111th were concluded at
the conclusion of the business period
the program was left in charge of the -
girls, it being "Girl's Day," with Miss
Mamie Shaddick as convener, Miss -
Gladys Mountain played a very pleas-'
ing instrumental. This was followed
by a short play, entitled, 'Publicity,"
staged by seven girls, 'Misses Allen,
!Norma Snell, Helen Youngblut, Ma-
mie IShaddick, Nona Hesk and Hazel
Hogg -art. Musical trio. Miss 'Beth
Sho'bbrook, Marion Stewart and Nor-
ma Snell with the guitars sang very
sweetly, 'In the Vine Covered
Church," and "Silver -Haired Daddy
of !Tine." Meeting was closed 'by the
singing of the national anthem. The
girls then served n stt'nhptuous tea,
which 'brought a most pleasant after-
noon to a diose.
Beautiful Easter services were held
in the United Church on Sunday with
a large congregation; in the morning
Rev. 'Gardiner delivered a splendid
Easter message, The church .looked
lovely with beautiful Easter
and ,primulas. The choir rendered spe-
cial Easter music,- assisted by Master
Fraser Thompson with his violin. Im-
mediately after the church service the
Sunday School had a nice .Easter pro
gr.amane in the school room, .All was
enjoyed 'fully.

their monthly meeting at the home of
Mrs. J. Henderson on Saturday after-
noon last. The president, Miss M.

Scripture reading was taken by Miss
Ruth Watson, The devotional, "Jesus
in 'Rural Life," was read and Miss
.Beatrice Cooper led in prayer. The
minutes of the 'last meeting were read
and adopted .and the roll call taken to
which - eleven girls responded. The
interesting topic was taken by Miss
Florence Thomson on "The Sign of
the Cross.' Miss ,13: Daym'ond' read
the 2nd chapter of 'The Viking
Heart." The meeting closed by all re-

The (Easter Sunday services which
were held in the United Church were
of special interest. The pastor, .Rev.
W. A. !Bremner, preached '.two excel-
lent sermons on the resurrection, The
Easter story. although old, is ever
new and fall of comfort. The choir,
tender the leadership of Miss Jean
Murdoch provided suitable music.
The church was decorated with beau-
tiful 'Easter lilies and roses,
