Mr. and Mrs, Robt, McKenzie and family visited on Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. Mervyn Schwalm and Mr, and Mrs, Harold Hanson in Stratford, Post -Nuptial Shower — Mrs, John Passmore and Mrs, Lorne Elder were hostesses at the former's home for a miscellaneous shower Thursday evening in honor of Mrs. Harold Cudmore (nee Gladys McKenzie). A sing song was led by Miss Greta Lammie and Miss Gladys Luker• directed the contests. A mock wedding was an interesting part of the program: those taking part were Mrs, Harpole, Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs, Hess. During the evening the bride was presented with beautiful and nu- merous miscellaneous gifts for which she made a fitting reply of thanks. A dainty luncheon was served, Mr. Kenneth Brook of the RCAF, Ottawa, and Mrs. Brook, visited this week with the fo•mer's parents, Rev. R. A Brook and Mrs. Brook, Donna Rigby of Blenheim is holi- daying with her grandparents, Mr, and iIrs. Stewart McQueen. • Pte. George Parke and Lieut. Alda Bolton were week end visitors with Mrs, Gordon Bolton and Mrs. Parke, Misses Lenore Norminton, Ruth Hess, Marion Sangster and Donna. HYDRO to be reorganized so the farmer's wife can have at low cost all city conveniences of power and lights, and unification of Hydro throughout the Province so that our towns and villages can attract Industry units, thus building up looal markets for our farmers. THE GOVERNMENT to assume 50% at least of the school taxes now charged against your farm or home. PLAN AT ONCE for a social security pro- gram that will insure security for all the people, in the post war period. ASSIST THE WIDOW AND AGED by means of increases In allowances and pensions with no strings attached, I BELIEVE THAT THE FARMER should be properly organized so that they can place their problems collectively before the government. I also believe that the Canadian Federation of Agriculture is doing and will continue to do a great deal for the farmer, and It has my every support and sympathy.
