TUCKERSMITH
The Council for Tuckersmith met
in the town hall, Seaforth, on Fri-
day, April 2nd. The minutes of pre-
vious meeting were adopted. The
Workmen's Compensation Insurance
Polley to include the clerical staff,
was renewed with the agent, M.A.
Reid, and the treasurer was author-
ized to issue cheque for premium
based on the payroll of 1542. Jas.
Love, auditor, attended and read the
auditors' report on work for 1942.
The council adopted the report, com-
plimenting the auditors on a very
comprehensive and satisfactory re-
port and ordered the payment of
their salaries, The clerk was author-
ized to contact the different culvert
companies in reference to ability to
supply iron culverts and prices. The
treasurer was authorized to pay the
Keenan Fence Co. of Owen Sound
for snow fence and posts purchased.
The following accounts were paid:
James Love, auditing, $42.501 Arth-
ur Finlayson, auditing, $42.50; post-
age, $2.63; relief, $10,00;` salaries
and postage $52.00. The council
adjourned to meet on Saturday, May
1st at 2 p.m,—D. F. McGregor,

Chesney -Armstrong—
The United Church manse, Bruce -
field, was the scene of a lovely early
spring wedding on Saturday when
Isabel Rae, only daughter of Mr,
and Mrs, Wilson Armstrong, Bruce-
field, became the bride of McLellan
Rogers Chesney, son of Mr. and Mrs,
H. M.'Chesney, of Kippen. The cere-
mony was' performed by Rev. G. F.
N. Atkinson. There were no attend-
ants. For her wedding, the attractive
bride chose a rose crepe dress with
white trimmings, and her bridal bou-
quet was of pink roses. The recep-
tion' was held later at the home of
the bride's parents at Springview
Farni. Mrs. Armstrong received,
wearing a gown of air force blue.
She was assisted by Mrs. Chesney cos-
tumed in wine crepe. Both wore cor-
sages of pink carnations. A wedding
dinner was served at the home of
the bride's parents. Table decora-
tions were pink and white streamers,
centred with a three-storey wedding
cake, a large white bell hanging over
it. Two girl friends of the bride,
Kathleen Shannon of Winthrop and
Hazel Dining of Brucefield, served.
The bridal couple spent their honey-
moon in Toronto and points east, the
the bride travelling in a turquoise
blue two-piece suit, gray tweed
spring coat with navy blue accessor- '
les. Mr. and Mrs. Chesney will reside l
at Springview Farm, Tuckersmith.
On Thursday evening, April 1st,
some seventy friends and neighbors
met at the home of Mr, and Mrs;
Wilson Armstrong when a miscellan-
eous shower was held for their only
daughter. Miss Isabell Armstrong, who
became the bride of Mr. Mac Chesney
on Saturday. The first part of the
evening was spent in social time un-
til the programme started, consisting
of vocal solos by Mrs. G. Richardson
and Mrs. J. Cairns, a reading by Mrs.
R. Chapman, mouth organ solo by
Mrs. S. Pepper accompanied by Mrs.
Richardson, several contests in
charge of Mrs. W. Haugh and Mrs.
G 11cCa tney,were held. At the'close
the gifts which were many, were use-
ful and beautiful. The wagon with
some of the gifts was decorated in
pink and white, was drawn into the,
living room by Carl Richardson and
Neil Haugh; other of the younger
guests brought in the rest of the
gifts. The bride elect thanked all for
their gifts in a grateful manner; she •
also thanked those responsible for;
the shower. For She's A Jolly Good!
Fellow was sung. Lunch was served,'
and all returned to their homes at
midnight.

Mrs. R. Scott over the week end.

Watford called on Mr. and Mrs. F,
Taylor on Sunday, Mrs. 5. Doan of

son and husband. Mr, B. Hess and
Mrs. G. Hess called at the homes of
