brought in by Mrs. Alex. McMurtrie

an address read by Miss Margaret
McGregor of Hensall. The bride, al-
though taken by surprise, replied in
a meg manner, thanking the donors
for their kind thoughts. Later a
dainty lunch was served and a social
hour enjoyed by all.
The President of the Hensall Red
Cross Society received the following
letter last week in wl,Fch the thanks
of the parent society is expressed to
those who in any way helped to pre-
pare and ship the large amount of
jam that was sent recently. The
local branch echoes and emphasizes
every word of thanks and hopes all
contributors will accept this word of
praise. "Will you please accept and
extend to all concerned our thanks
for the magnificent contribution of
29 cases of jam received at our ware
house. This has meant a great deal
of work, but we know the women will
feel fully repaid when they realize
what Canadian jams and honey are
meaning to the military hospitals,
children's hostels, aged people's
homes, and it has also been used af-
ter bombings, the sugar content be-
ing a source of energy to help over-
come shock. Yours sincerely, Mrs.

On Sunday last the annual rally
day service was held in the Hensall
United Church when the programme
outlined by the Department, of R•elig-

A large congregation was present in
spite of the threatening weather and
the service was considered one of
the best in many years. Edison For-

The Junior and Intermediate schol-

service by presenting an exercise
