Married At Chesley—
St. John's United Church, Chesley,
was the setting for the marriage of
Miss Doris Helen Ankemann, daugh-
ter of Mr. Christian Richard Anke-
mann and the late Mrs. Ankemann,
to. Mr. Ian Stewart Filshie, Belleville,
son of Mrs. Filshie and the late Ar-
chibald Filshie, Toronto. Rev. W. G.
Prosser officiated, and Mrs. Howard
Vincent accompanied the soloist,
Mrs. George M. Morrow. The bride,
given in marriage by her father, wore
a graceful gown of shell -white satin.
'White roses formed her bouquet,
Mrs. Albert E. Krug, matron. of hon-
or; Miss Mary Louise Ankemann, sis-
ter of the bride, and Miss Marion
Filshie, sister of the bridegroom,
were gowned alike in gold silk jer-
sey. with halos of lace and brown
shoulder veils. Their flowers were
bronze chrysanthemums. Sub -Lieut.
Richard D. Ankemann was grooms-
man, and . the ushers were Allan B.
Extenae and Lieut: G. Kenneth Lang-
ford. The bridegroom and his moth-
er were former residents of Cromarty.
Ahrens-Woodward—
In Holy Trinity church, Mount
Hamilton, on Saturday afternoon,
Sept. 5, the wedding took place of
Nancy, youngest slaughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Woodward, Bethesda,
and Cpl. Harold Ahrens, son of Me.
and Mrs. Fred Ahrens, Mitchell. Rev.
Griffin Thompson officiated. The
church was decorated with peach
gladioli. The bride, given away by
her father, wore a white satin gown.
Miss Betty Braithwaite was maid of
honor, wearing blue net. Miss Phyllis
Bock, bridesmaid, wore pink net. Mr.
Alvin Ahrens was best man, and Mr.
Wilfred Ahrens and Mr. Leonard
Woodward were ushers. Miss Kath-
leen Hamil played the wedding
music. The after -reception was held
at the bride's home in Bethesda for
75 guests.
Mrs. Susanna Haberer, Zurich
Mrs. Susanna Haberer, widow of
Peter Haberer, died recently at her
home in Zurich in her 62nd year,
Mrs. Haberer was born in Hay Town-
ship and was married in 1911, after
which Mr. and Mrs. Haberer farmed
near Zurich, She moved with her
husband to Zurich in 1919, where she
had resided since. She was a memb-
er of St. Peter's Lutheran Church,
Surviving are her mother, Mrs,. Jacob
Railer, Dashwood; three sisters, Mr's.
rntherine Willert, Mrs, L. Kraft, of
Dashwood; dors. Clara Decker, of
Zurich; four brothers, William Rad-

Grain Procter—
The borne of Mr. and Mrs, Miller,
Procter. Wingham, was the scene of
a pretty wedding on Sept. 19th, when
their youngest de Ugh ter, Margaret
Lotflae, became the bride of John
Orton Grain, son of Mr. and Mrs,
Lance Grain, The ceremony was 'per-
formed by Rev. W. A. Beecroft, Miss
Veleta Wheeler, cousin of the bride,
played the wedding music. Her at-
tendant was Miss Ma Kelly, Alvin
Procter was groomsman, After the
wedding luncheon the bride and
groom left by motor for Niagara
Falls. On their return they will re-
