Solve Mystery Light
Seen at Varna
Mr. and Mrs, Wm. 'Neter of Nen-
sail were renewing acquaintances in
Varna Sunday and were the 'guests
of Mr, and Mrs, Wilfred. Cheiter,
• Mr, Floyd McAsli is attending the
technical school at London.
Miss Jane Rutherford of Hamilton
spent a day last week with her
cousin Mary Elizabeth Beatty, who
has gone to London to visit her
aunts.
A mysterious light could be seen
for several nights at any hour. What
could it be or why its presence Sev-
eral motorists halted but one more
curious than another stopped the car,
turned out the lights to investigate
and on venturing close, observed a
large wheel withan illuminated hub.
Now what could this mean. It cert-
ainly was not to show chinch bugs,
or bed bugs, for they can travel in
the dark, and get there just the same.
Some thought it was "will o' the
wisps," but he frequents low marshy
land. But this light in a lawn on the
top of the hill. What could it be.
Now, the lightning bug has fame but
hasn't any mind. He stumbles
through the darkness with his head-
light on behind. But there are other
bugs that do not carry a lantern, So
for their convenience a lighted lant-
ern was suspended from the grape
vine to show the huge grape beetle
to the tub of` water where he could
get a refreshing bath or Saturday
night. This fellow dressed in n. nice
rust shade of brown dotted with
black spots and would serve as a
nice lurch for a chicken or duck,
There are several little black or
bronze bugs who accompany hint.
They can Trop or fly and woe to the
vine that these pests attack. The
mysterious light should be set out
with a tub of water iu June or July,
but even in August it will serve to
destroy these pests.
