FEDERATION ENDORSES
WAR SAVINGS PLAN
The farmers of the County of
Huron are being asked by the Na-
tional War Finance Committee to
loan the Government, for . the dura-
tion of the war, 10 per cent, of their
pay cheques for milk, cream, eggs,
and other farm produce.
Crops in this county are splendid
and prices are reasonably good. The
appeal for the 10 per cent is there-
fore receiving a generous response.
Payment is made by giving the pro-
ducers War Savings Stamps instead
of cash for the 10 per cent. The
stamps are placed in folders until $4
worth is collected, • when they can be
changed for certificates. Every $4.00
certificate will be redeemed by the
Government in 71/ years by the pay-
ment of $5.00 which means a 3 per
cent investment. If purchasers
should need the amounts they have
invested the certificates will be re-
deemed at any time after six months
from the date of their purchase. ,
Creameries, cheese factories and
produce dealers will be supplied with
the necessary stamps for the conven-
ience of their customers.
The plan has received the endorse-
tion of the Huron County Federa-
tion of Agriculture.
