HIBBERT FRIENDS HONOR
GUNNER FERG'US FEENEY
A group ofneighbos and friends
assembled at the home of Martin
d'eeney this week to honor Gunner
Fergus Feeney who was at home op
eurlough• An address was read by
William Atkinson and a purse of
money, presented. The guest pf honor
thanked the "d'onors graciously and a
social evening was spent. Following
is the address:
Gunner Fergus Feeney: Words can
not express our admiration of the
part you are taking in this dreadful
war. lin which we are ;defending our
religion, our country, our cause for
freedom, all that is dear to us,
against one of the greatest, if not
the greatest evil that could be
brought on the human race. While
we regret that a young man, who
has been so good a neighbor, so good
a citizen, a credit to your parents
and to the community in which you
lived, and who is such a hero in a
time of great need, is leaving us, we
must keep up our courage. and trust
in all wise and loving Providence.
We express or desire in a few
words: "God preserve you!" To make
known our appreciation in a small
way, we ask you to accept this
purse. Signed on behalf of your
neighbors and well-wishers, William
Atkinson, Frank Jordan, -
