MR. AND MRS. K. STEWART
HONORED BY FRIENDS
,A very enjoyable evening was spent
in Londesbo•o community hall, June
29th when a large crowd gathered to
honor Mr. and Mrs. Ken Stewart on
their recent marriage. Music was pro-
vided by Addie Irwin and her orches-
tra and the evening was spent in
dancing. At 12 o'clock lunch was serv-
ed, after which Mr. and Mrs. Stewart
treated everyone to wedding cake.
They were then called to the front of
the hall where they were presented
with a beautiful cedar chest. The pre-
sentation was made by Miss Isobel
Forbes and Mr. Wm, J. Dale and the
following address was read by Mrs.
Wm. Dale:
"Dear Clarissa and Ken, -We have
gathered here tonight to congratulate
you on your recent marriage and to
extend to you our best wishes for a
happy and prosperous future. You,
Clarissa, have always been one of U0,
and we are very glad that you have
decided to stay in our community.
Now, Clarissa, I'll give you some ad-
vice on the side. It is just for a year,
you'll be known as a bride; after that,
you become for the rest of your life,
Just an old married woman, a mother
and .wife. Now Ken, with all that you
say as a groom, she'll agree; Through
your honeymoon days not a fault will
she see,'But she'll start in to notice
your bad taste in ties, Just the moan-
ent reality opens her eyes. We now
ask you to accept this gift as a token
of the high esteem in which you are
held. Signed on behalf of your friends
and neighbors,"
Ken made a very suitable reply,,
thanking everyone on behalf of Clar-
issa and himself for the lovely gift.
Ali joined in singing "For They Are
Jolly Good Fellows" and a host of
good wishes are extended to this pop -
'tiler young couple.
