A quiet wedding was solemnized at
the Anglican Rectory, Mitchell, 00 I eam by the League. The topic, To Spook
Rev, C. L. Langford of ho Truth in Love, was discussed by Rev.
Saturday, Schultz. This topic proved to be very inspir-
ating, when Agnes Daisy (Beth) Inc and helpful. The meeting closed with the

came the bride of William Harvey
Walsh, second son of Mr. and Mrs.
F, A. Walsh of Lintlaw, Sask. The
bride wore a floor length gown of
white silk marquisette over taffeta,
her shoulder length veil held in place
by a halo of white roses. She carried
a white prayer book trimmed with
white streamers and rosebuds. For
something old the bride chose a
handkerchief 60 years old. Mrs. R.
H. McLaren of Hamilton, sister of
the groom, was bridesmaid, wearing
a floor length gown of blue net Over
Leagt o picnic it was decided to have it at
Lakes de and to set a definite date at the
text business meeting, Jack Prueter on be-
tall of the Brodhagen ball team, expressed
tis appreciation for the support given to the
taffeta, silver slippers and carried
roses. Mr. McLaren, brother-in-law
of the groom, was best man, The
groom's gift to the bride was a gold
wrist watch. The bridal couple left
on a motor trip to Hamilton, The
bride travelled in a rose -beige frock
with white accessories. Upon their
return rhey will live in New Dundee.

of this month. has been guest of honor at a
runtime of delightful showers recently, Mrs.
H. S,.Pers and Mrs. H. Travis of Walton
were the hostesses of a delightful gathering

lovely luncheon at which Dices Margaret

following address: "Dear Beth: We have met
here tonight to wish you well on the eve of
your approaching marriage. We remember
that you have always been willing to lend a
helping hand wherever possible. You have
always cheerfully assisted us In the choir,
and fulfilled your position as teacher In the
Hssride have syhavealedungthe two years that you
been away at business college and while
working in your position at Mitchell. You
are now taking over the responsibility of
looking after a husband and a home and we
know you will manage this new job as ef-
ficiently as you have done in the others. We,
the members of the choir, could not let this
happy event take place without showing a
little appreciation of your helpfulness among
us. so we ask you to accept this gift as a
token of remembrance from your friends in
the Walton choir. Wishing you all happiness

made a very suitable reply- thanking the
Tpaembers for their thoughtfulness and ex-
pressed a wish of often visiting with her
friends here. The evening was spent in social
chat, The hostess served a dainty lunch at
the close.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Wells and Miss Joan,
of Tornnoto, are spending their holidays with
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Humphries.
The U.F,W.0, held their monthly meet-
ing at the home of Mrs. Joe Ryan on,Wed-
nesdny l7th. Mrs. Spear of Brussels, its
guest speaker. spoke on Citizenship, Miss
Dorothy Turnbull favoured the meeting with

Walton Red Cress Meeting—
The R.1 rms. meeting was held in the
Community Hell on Tuesday afternoon with.
Mew lee holies present. The president, Mrs,
P. C. Bennett presided and opened the
meeting by alt singing The Maple Leaf. Miss
Tenaie Dennis mod the secretary's report in
the absence of Mrs. W. Shortrced, Mr's,
'bloody Holland gave her report of the tress -
my having on hand 151.15. A motion was
made to send 5011 to Seaforth. Carried. A
committee was named to look after the jam
making this summer as follows: Mrs. Silas
Johnston, Mrs. Wm. Humphries, Mrs.. A. D.
Coutts, Miss Annie Gordon. The salvage
committee from Seaforth has donated 25.00
for ban to be sent to every hey from our
community overseas and following commit-
tee is In charge: Mrs, L. Leeming, Mrs. Jno,
Bruce, alts. Wm. Dennis. Mrs. Jim Ritchie
and Mrs, W. C. Bennett. Boxes to be packed
as soon as possible. Quilts are to be put in
by the Melsillon group and lunch is to be
provided by the Walton ladies. Mrs. E. H.
Close of Seaforth was guest speaker and
gave a vett interesting talk on Red Cross
andalso stressed the need for sewing, both
refugee and hospital supplies. Anyone can
get these from Mrs. Colin Fingland and Mrs.
Nelson Reid and their yarn from Mrs. H. B.
Ktrhby, "The thing to remember is that
none of us are too 'busy to help those in die -
tress. Mrs. Bennett moved a vote of thanks
to Mrs. Clnse for coming out and giving as
her time. Meeting rinsed with God Save the
King. Lnneh was served by the Bethel ladies.

end visiting relatives in Windsor,

The service on Sunday was con-
ducted by the minister who preached
on God's leadership as leadership

per
upper is to be dispensed next Sunday at

After July lst no one will be aIle to pur-
chase sugar for regular domestic use without
turning in a ration coupon.
Application cards for coupon rationing for
sugar have now been mailed to every house-
hold in Canada. But, in an undertaking so
vast, some homes may have been missed, or
some cards may have gone astray. So, no
matter where you live, whether it is in 'areas
served by letter carrier or not, if your appli-
cation card is not already on its way to
Rationing Headquarters, you should wait
no longer.
After filling in the card, according to the
instructions on the pamphlet which was
delivered with it, just drop the card in the
nearest mail box or post office. It needs no
forwarding address.
