Miss A. Wilson and Mrs. J, Plank
and Mr, and Mrs. E. Moore of Strat-
ford spent the week end with 1dr,
and Mrs. Fred Ennis,
Mr. John Sanderson and Mrs. Tay-
lor of Hullett spent Monday with
friends in Walton.
Rev. and Mrs. S. Friedrickson and
Soneke and Mrs. J. N. Campbell vis-
ited friends in Stafi'a Wednesday af-
ternoon.
The W.M.S. met June 10; The pro-
gram leaflet was entitled, "The Bales
Go A -travelling," and, was prepared'
by the supply secretary of the Dom-
inion Board, The bale of articles is
to be sent to Mr. Cowan of Christian
Island, Mrs, Wilson and Mrs. Joe
'Campbell had charge of the dedica-
tion of the gifts.Stories of gifts re-,
ceived by hospitals, community mis-
sions and Indian Reserves tell the
articles sent ole always appreciated.
The Baby Band was entertained and
a short program followed at which
Mrs. Harvey Johnston presided.
Lunch was served.
The Mission Band of Duff's Church
held their meeting on Sunday. There
were 35 children present. Marian
Steiss took charge of the meeting.
The meeting opened with hymn 34
followed by the Lord's prayer In uni-
son. The birthday offering was taken.
Further plans were made for the
picnic to be held at Mrs. McCall's on
June 26th. The members purpose was.
repeated. For the Scripture we all
repeated the 23rd Psalm. Mrs.
Broadfoot then led in prayer, A story
on China was given by Joyce Oliver.

The Londesboro United Church
Sunday School will hold their annual
Strawberry Festival on Tuesday
evening, Jane 23rd, on the Commun-
ity Hall grounds, Supper will be
served from seven to nine o'clock,
followed by a splendid program, con-
sisting of the 3 -act play put on by
the Young People of Auburn, "Bolts
and Nuts," Special music giyetl be-
tween acts. Come prepared to euioy
a good supper and loads of fun .fram
this humorous play. Admission

Amid a setting of evergreen, or-
ange blossoms and peonies, a very
pretty wedding was solemnized on
Wednesday, Tone 10th, at 3 p,m, at
the home of the bride's 'parents at
Londesboro, when their youngest
daughter Mary Marette, became the
bride of Charles Richards Wallis, son
of Mr. and Mrs, Walter Wallis of
Goder'ich Township, The ceremony
was performed by Rev, 'A. E. Men-
zies of Londesboro. The bride, who
was given' in marriage by her father,
looked charming in a street length
dress of hyacinth blue sheer, wear-
ing a corsage of rose and gold carna-
tions and gold locket, gift of the
groom. The couple were attended by
Mr. and Mrs, Fred Wallis.. The dining
room decorations were in color
schemes of pink and white, while the
bridal table was centered with wed-
ding cake, vases of pyrethum and
forget-me-nots with pink tapers in
silver holders. Serving were Mrs,
George Love, Walton, and Miss
Grace Addison, Clinton, cousins of

ham visited relatives at Benmiller on

James Armstrong of Toronto spent
the past two weeks at the home of
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew
Armstrong, Mrs, Armstrong celeb-
rated her birthday ,on Sunday,
Mr. and Mrs. John Armstrong and
family of Londesboro and daughter,
Mrs. Carbert (Ella) and Marie of
Seaforth, were present.
Mr. Leo Stephenson of Fort Erie
was 'home for the week end.
The Sunday School anniversary
service held Sunday ' evening was
quite a success. Rev. J. C. Britton, of
Port Albert, gave the address. He
spoke on the theme from Hebrews,
"Have Faith that we may win our
souls," -
Visitors on Sunday with Mr, and
Mrs. Jack Ferguson, Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Elliott and Mr. and Mrs. Gord-

Miss Winnie Savauge of Seaforth,
spent the week end with her friend,
attended a wedding on Saturday in Miss Helen Britton.

Opened by reading a challenge, "It is

ed in a mighty conflict because our
generations have failed in its task of
creating a completely friendly world
and now to our children we are pass-
ing on the flickering torch of prog-
ress. When children's friendships are
world wide new ages will be glorified:
Let child love child and wars shall
cease. Disarm the heart for that is
peace." The theme, "The Bell's go a
travelling." Hymn, ""There's Work to
do for Jesus.' Prayers were offered
by Mrs. Lindsay and Mrs, Britton.
Temperance reading by Mrs, 17.
Adams. Reading by Mrs. B. Stephen-
son on the systematic way of giving.
Hymn, "I Must Needs Go Howie." In-
teresting chapter from the study
book, "The Chinese Church Comes of
Age," was taken by Mrs. Nottingham.
The meeting was then closed.
The regular meeting of the WA,
was held at the home of Mrs. Chas,
Dexter and Mrs. Wry, Jewitt, The
president Mrs, Adams presided. The
meeting opened by reading the
apostles creed after which the doxol-
ogy and God Save the Ring were
sung, After singing hymn 240 :Mrs,
Rogerson led in prayer and the Lord's
prayer was repeated in unison. 'The
minutes of the last meeting were ap-
proved. After the business was dis-
cussed Mrs, Adams took charge for
Mrs, Leitch, leader of Group 3, Hymn
236 was sung and Mrs. -Lawson and
Mrs, Carter led in prayer. The scrip-
ture lesson was read by Mrs. L.
Lawson taken from Luke 10, ' 25.37,
Mrs, Adams read a poem by Ed'
Guest, "The Home." Mrs, Carter sang
a solo, "Trust Him all in all," and
was much enjoyed, Mrs. Britton took
the chair for the W. M. S.

Canadians will be required to register so that
rationcards, good for the 10 week period,
commencing July 1st, may be issued immedi-
ately. flt the end of that period a coupon
ration book, good for six months, will be issued.

holders through the post offices on or before Tues.

These application cards should be filled out imine-.
diately and dropped in the nearest mail box or post
office. A pamphlet giving complete instructions will
be delivered with each card. As soon as your name
is duly registered at headquarters, ration cards,
good for a ten -week period, will be mailed to you -
one ration card for each person in your home. These
will be for sugar only.

Beginning July 1st, no one will be permitted to buy
sugar for regular domestic use without a ration
coupon.
Prompt co-operation on the part of the public in
filling out and returning their application cards is
necessary to ensure return of the ration coupon
card in time to purchase sugar on or after the
above date.
Remember -the amount of sugar allowed each indi-
vidual under the new coupon rationing plan will be
exactly the same as allowed at present -4 pound per
person per week.
