At the annual meeting of the Board
of Management of the Maitland-
bank Cemetery, MrS. T,Fiolmes was
elected Chairman and Mr. W. 0, Wil
lie was re elected Secretary -Treasurer

taker for the year,
Tho Board wishes to thank all who
aeeisted finanoially towards improving
the appearance of the Cemetery Inst
season,
With he natural surroundings, the•e
is no reason why Maitland Bank Cem-
etery should not be a beauty spot with
the oo operation of the lot owners this
would be accomplished, The Manage-
ment are asking for the asap) subeorip-
tion of $s.00 from each lot -owner this
season and in return they guarantee to
keep the lots mowed and the graves in
good condition. Let all interested help
in this ,vorthy undertaking.

Beath of Mrs. Cooper
At an early hour, Thursday morning,
April, 17th, Wire, .Elizabeth Cooper, of
town, passed peaoefully ad*ay, at the
age 68 years, For six years she was a
oonparative invalid and for several
weeks previous to her death, was a se-
vere sufferer, During her afflictiou

The funeral was conducted ou Satur-
day, by Rev. Mr. McKinley, at which
eervioa, Miss G. Reid sang a suitable
solo entitled "Shadows.” Tho remains

The old boiler shop in Ooderioh, near
the standpipe was burned to the ground
last week, The fire started from a
blaze olealii11g off old grass on the prop-

who had the plaoe rented lost a wood -
splitting machine, a hay presser, pair
of bobsleighs and several other articles,
Mr, A. S. Chrystal owned the building

The home of Rev, John (4, and Mrs
Yellaud, Exeter, was the scene of a
pleasant gathering on Thereday last,
when they celebrated the fiftieth anni-
versary of their wedding. Rev, and
Mre, Muxworthy and a few of their
other near frieuda were present. The

many tokens of esteem. A regular show

vray and Mrs, Richard Atkinson of Lu-
oan. Site was a member of the Bicl-
