It is very good of the ladies of Seaforth to again remember us in thio way by sending boxed. Soy, if food is as clear over there as here, it will coat something to sendthem, - Well, 1 can't say I like the climate here, as 1 have just about enough of this wet'weather. It seems to rain the whole blessed time. When not raining it is snowing. Yon know half rain and half snow. Last Sunday for a change it was very cold ane froze up solid and 1 thought, now we will have some good frosty weather but Wednesday morn- ing it turned to rain and has done ao ever since, Now, it looks like a green Christmas, Well, I guess, you will know how the eleotions have gone by the time you get. I think if the soldiers vote will put the Government in again, they will go iu, hands down. For they say ninety-eight per cent voted for the Government, I k ow all the fellows in the Transport voted that way. Yon bet, Mr' Morrison, I voted for 1Mer11er. We knew 81,0 wa8 running, if you did not you could vote for the Government Laurier had some mon working for him here in Buxton as yon see by the bill I sent to Lottie. They were post- ing up bills till over the town but as fast 02 they taut they were pulled down. 1.11the evening when the soldiers were dismissed at the C.13D. and got down town the Laurier party had to run, 1 guess the civic police told them to clear off or there would be trouble. It wee a party of wounded soldiers from the hoapital who tore the bills down ;lo you are Laurier isnot very well liked over Lora just now. It is too bad Harvey cannot go home for three months. Harvey should get leave. He deserves it as he 1188 seen lots of hard 'Work. 1 would like to see him 11 he goes home. f see many of the wounded here as there are five big Hospitals here, I wonder when this war will finish, Some say in February, but I doubt itr I am asking for leave for Christmas to see my sister, Lydia, Wolf this is all for this time Wish. ing you all a happy Ohristmge' Your friend, Jack Wood ter no If. ter ire ay et, Rad Cross Report 1?JNAN'.ICIAL STATEMENT December 1917 RECEIPT 'Saloum, on hand, ..... .....
