Mr. Either concluded with a strong

his loyalty to the King, shown by his

that his political opponents are trying
to make hire suffer for his patriotism
They are couducting a 'whispering caro•
paign' among the electors of German
descent in the riding, in an effort
to defeat him, but I know the loyalty
of the German, people of Ontario to the
British crown, and 1 know they will
fail, From my home County of Perth

the front, with no thought of race, but
as plain Canadian boys, eager to d6
their duty to the British Empire."
"Now we have a Union, Government,

cleanness, but because the premier,
with the view of a great statesman, de-
sired to eliminate all politics. Ile has
gathered around him strong men from
the West and the East, regardless of
politics, and it is our duty to stand be
hind them so that the nations entire

war.
Mr .Vlorghy then touched on the
Laurier Candidate in the riding.
"If he ie for Laurier he is against
winning the war," lie said, 'If he is for

Mr !darner stands for conscription and

he has no reason to run." (Applause)

the war or will we quit,"
In conclusion Mr Morphy dealt with
the Franchise Act,

of the situation confronting Canada,'
said Mr Merlyn after thanking
the convention for the nomination.
He then proceeded to cleal with hie op-

"My opponent," he said, "is apparent

He has told the people of British de-
