WALTON
A shower in honor of Miss Ed-
na Martin was held in the base-
ment of the church on Wednes-
day evening, Dec. 12th. A quiz
was conducted by +Miss Audrey
Hackwell and Miss Marilyn
Johnston. Miss Isobel McCall
assisted in opening ,the gifts
while Mrs. Ross McCall entered
the names in the 'bride's book,
Lunch was served 'by the ladies.
The Walton group held their
Christmas party in the school
room of the church on Thursday
evening when the winning side
of the copper contest was enter-
tained by the losing side. The
tables were decorated with red
streamers, place cards and oth-
er decorations.. The Winners
were dressed in hardtinre cost-
ume, the prize going to Mrs,
Ronald Bennett. Judges were
Mrs. Iferb Kirkby and 'Mrs. J.
Gordon. Mrs. Hilda Sellers won
the lucky chair •prize.
A short program was present-
ed- with Mrs Frank Walters in
charge. Carol singing with Mrs.
Herb Travis as accompanist.

well, piano solo -,Mrs, Doug En-
nis. A pie -eating- contest was
conducted with Mrs. Ronald
Bennett and Mrs. D. Ennis as
winners. Gifts were exchanged
after which 'boxes were packed
for the shutins in the group.
Donations for the boxes were
brought by the members of the
group.
Miss Jannie Van Vliet has re-
turned home after visiting with
her sister and ,brother-in-law,

holding a candle -lighting vesper
service in the auditorium of
Duff's United Church on Sun-
day evening.

will be held on Friday evening
of this week.
The skating rink committee
decided et their meeting last
week to operate the rink again.
Last year's report showed re-
ceipts $10 expenses $80. So
anyone wishing to donate to
this fund, it would be gratefully
appreciated by the eommitteo.
