An exceptionally well :chosen
topics was given by Mrs. Ethel
Rockwell entitled "The Faith of
The Apostles (Creed". In open-
ing she stated ,bleat false teach-
ing is a menace to the 'Church,
therefore it is important today
for 'Christians to 'know "Why
and what they believe". The :be-
lief of the United 'church mem-
bers is (based on the Apostles'
Creed. At this point the Apost-
les' 'Creed was read in unison.
This creed has been fixed and
unchanged 'for more than a
thousand years, indeed for more
than half as dong again.
In closing Mrs. Rockwell re-
marked that each of our• lives
could be likened to a one -string
violin, ebur God needs all strings
to 'produce His harmony. This.
then is what we profess to :be-
lieve when we become United
(Church members. The secre-
tary's report was read by Mrs
Fern Patterson and MTs. Frank
Kirkby gave the financial re-
port. A discussion period follow-
ed after which the meeting clos-
ed (with hymn 490 "1 ann Thine
0
Lord" ,and the Miepah Bene-
diction repeated in unison. :Con-
tests were conducted by Mrs,
Douglas Ennis, Lunch was serv-
ed by the hostess and Mrs. Ian
Wilbee, Mrs. Allan IMdCadl and
Mrs. Herb Travis.
