A pretty wedding took 'place
in St. Columiban'R•onvan'Catholic
[Church at .9.30 a.m. •on 'June 2,
when Mildred Genevieve, daugh-
ter of 'Mr. and Mrs. Joseph IL,
Ryan, Dublin, became the 'bride
of James 'Ddward, son of 'Mrs.
Elizabeth Cronin, of Dublin, and
the late Joseph Cronin. Ren'•
Father J. Mc'Cowell officiated.
The church was 'decorated with
bouquets of tulips and narcissus.
,Mrs, Vincent Lane was organist
and the soloists were Bob And-
erson, of London, cousin of the
bride, and 'Rosemary Lane of
Seaforth, who sang "Ave Maria"
and "On This Day 0 Beautiful
:Mother".
The (bride, who was given in
marriage'by her father, wore an
original floor -length gown of
Chantilly lace and nylon tulle
styled with fitted bodice, lily -
pointed sleeves. The peter pan
collar was trimmed with sequins
and her finger-tip veil was held
by a crown headdress trimmed
with sequins. ''She carried red
roses with white streamers.
Miss .Eleanor Bowman was
maid of honor and wore an
aqua -colored dress of crystal-
lette with matching headdress,
cowl collar with streamers Cow-
ing :down the back. The design
was long torso and full ballerina
skirt. Her flowers were blue and
white carnations with 'b 1 u e
streamers.
The :bridesmaid was 'Catherine
Ryan, whose dress was of pink
crystallette, cowl 'collar with
streamers down the back and
was also designed with long tor-
so and ballerina skirt. Her flow-
ers were white and pink carna-
tions with pink streamers.
Miss Patricia Ryan, cousin
of the bride, was flower girl,
wearing a yellow ballerina -
If
length gonvn of nylon and car-
ried a bouquet of yellow and
white .carnations. Bobby !Hart,
cousin •of the groom, was ring
bearer. The best anan was ,Clar-
ence Cronin, brother of the
groom.
:Ronald Ryan, brother of the
bride, was groomsman. The
ushers were :Frank 'Cronin, Dub-
lin, and Leo Ryan, Weston.
The 'wedding dinner took
:place at the home of the bride,
which was decorated with pink
and white streamers, 'bells and
bouquets of tulips and white
narcissus. 'The bride's another
received in a pale 'blue nylon
dress' and wore a corsage of red
roses. The groom's mother chose
a dark 'blue dress with lace and
wore 0 corsage of roses.
The happy couple left on a
wedding 'trip to 'Quebec and
eastern states, the bride travel-
ling in a pink •dress with 'white
accessories. On their return they
will reside at Dublin where the
bridegrooen operates a garage.
Guests were present at the
wedding from Detroit, London,
St. Clements, Stratford, Clin-
ton, Kitchener, Toronto, West-
on, Parkhill, Denfield, Byron,
Dorchester and Dublin.

.A pretty double ring'ceremony
was solemnized in 'Blyth United
Church at 2 pall. on •Saturday,
July :2nd, when Irene, only daug-
hter of Mr. and Mrs. 'George
Howatt of Blyth, became the
bride of Arnold Storey 'of King-
ston, youngest son of Mr. and
Mrs. John H. 'Storey of Walton.
Rev. A. W. Watson officiated,
The church was decorated
with spring flowers sand lighted
tapers.' Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore 0 floor -

satin. The bouffant sl{drt was
fashioned with a deep scalloped
lace insertion, edged with iri-
descent sequins over tiered net,
Tho lace jacket was styled wi'bh
tiny Qleter pan collar edged with
sequins and 'bapering lilypoint
sleeves. Her fiinger-tippiid Veil
was attached to a headpiece of
sheered nylon net, entwined with
tiny pearls 'and sequins. She car-
ried a white bible, centered with
a white orchid with rose 'buds
and lily of the valley knotted in
satin streamers extending to the
floor.
Her 'only attendant was Miss
Norma Reay of Clinton, in a
waltz -length gown of powder
,blue glistening crystallette with
snatching :headpiece and gloves.'
:She carried a, bouquet of pink
carnations, 'Mr. Gordon Laing off
;Cron:arty was groomsman. Miss
Connie Storey, of Tillsonburg,
niece of the groom, was a dainty
flower girl, in yellow nylon dress
with white accessories, and car-
ried a nosegay of yellow roses
and white baby :mums.
Miss Lucy Granby, church or-
ganist, presided at ;the organ.
Mrs. Betty Wilkin of Auburn,
sang "The Lord's Prayer" and
"At Dawning." The ushers were
Carman Howlett and Albert Was-
son. A reception was held in the
town hall, Blyth, after which
Ur. and Mrs. 'Storey left on a.
wedding trip to the United
States. The bride's travelling
costume was an aqua suit with
white accessories and a corsage
of pink carnations, They will re-
side at Kingston, Ont. -

with 70 candles. Those present

Members of St. Andrew's Un-
ited Church congregation met in
the church on 'Monday night to
honor Miss Garda ,Bennindyk, a
bride -elect. Mrs. Winston Work -
.man was in charge of the pro-
gram which consisted of a sing-
song and contests.
'Tile bride -elect was then es-
corted to a prettily decorated
chair surrounded with tulips ov-
er which hung a decorated
sprinkling can. Mrs. Verne Ald-
erdice read an address. Sharon
McBride and 'Margie Elgie pre-
sented the gifts. •Gerda then
thanked the ladies •and invited
these to her home Wednesday
evening to see her trousseau. A
dainty lunch was served.
During the 'Mission Band
meeting 25 anenvbels were pre-
sent. Mrs. ,Margaret Elgie read
an address to Miss Gerda Ben-
nindyk, bride -elect, who is their
leader, Miss Marjorie Turner
presented Miss 'Bennindyk 'with
a hammered aluminum serving
tray. Gerda made a fitting reply.
'On Sunday morning following
the service in St. Andrew's Un-
ited Church, members of the
choir presented Miss Bennindyk
with a hammered 'aluminum lazy
susan.
Mrs. Arthur Anderson is con-
fined to Scott Memorial Hos-
pital in Seaforth.
.Mr. and Mrs. (Orville Work-
man and family visited Mr. and
Mrs. S. Cudmore in London on
'Sunday.
Mr. and 'Mrs. Pat Curran of
Landon were Sunday 'guests of
Mrs. J. McClyanont.

out the different parts•of a cow
giving a specific name for each
part, Following this the 4411
members judged a class of na-
ture Holstein cones. Reasons
were given by Betty 'Storey,
Gloria Boyd and 'Louis Murray.
Mr. Marshall :then gave his of-
ficial (placing and his reason.
The 4-H 'pledge Hues repeated
and the minutes of the last
sneeting were read. The roll call
was answered 'and weigh charts
were given out. A 'delicious
lunch was served by Betty and
Mrs. Storey.

mile of sewer, 110 ft. of 48" culvert,
11000 cubic yards of excavation and
grading, 3800 cubic yards of base
course gravel, 4650 tons of asphaltic
concrete together with. primer and seal
coat amounting to. approximately 8700
gallons of asphalt cement.
