ceremony. The bride- wore a
dark suit with white •accessories
and carried red roses. Miss !Mari-
lyn Eyre, 'Kippen, was brides-
maid wearing a pink linen suit
with (blue accessories anti car-
ried pink roses. Gerald Moir of
Hensall was groomsman, The
couple will reside at Hensall nn -
til ,September When they will
snake their home et Guelph,
!Mr. and Mr's, Homer Tinney
and family moved to 'St, Marys
this week where Mr• 'Tinney has
been accepted on the !police
force.
VARNA
Mrs, W. G. !Clarke and her
'daughter Ruth of Varna enter-
tained the choir at a shower in
honor of two 'brides -elect, Miss
Phyllis Johnston and Miss Bar-
bara McConnell. Much fun was
enjoyed in the making of two
bride 'books. The girls received
many beautiful gifts and a very
pleasant evening was closed with
a dainty lunch being served by
the Hostesses.
The W. A. met in the base-
ment of the church on May 23
for their regular meeting. The
scripture lesson was read !by
'Mrs. Murvin Johnston, Thoughts
on the 'lesson were given by Mrs.
Lee 'McConnell. Mrs. !Robert Tay-
lor presided over the 'business
period. Roll call was 'answered
by 13 ladies. It was decided to
send $10 to the Goderieh Sum-
mer School'Camp.
HULLETT
The 'WMS land W.A. of Burns'
United Church held their May
meeting at the home of 'Mrs.
George Watt, May 30th with 20
in attendance. The meeting op-
ened with hymn 384 followed
with prayer by Mrs, Wen. Trew-
in. Mrs. Les Reid read the
scripture followed with a story
"My Greatest 'Adventure", read
by Miss Jean Leiper. Mrs. Viva
McGregor gave the study book
on Inmligration in the Local
Church. Mrs. White, President,
then took over the business part.
An invitation to Kinburn 'Society
on June 20th was accepted, Mrs.
Sohn Riley, President of W. A.
auctioned off the .articles in the
auction basket 'bringing a total
of $0. A dainty lunch was serv-
ed by Group 3.
CONSTANCE
A family gathering was 'held
on Sunday afternoon at the
hone of Mr. and Mrs Earl Law-
son and Reg. for !Miss Florence
Taylor before her departure for
Victoria, 'B.C. Members of the
fancily were present numbering
35 from London, Luclnow, Osh-
awa, Weston, Kippen, Auburn,
also a number in this district.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Donald and
fancily of !Pittsburg, Pa., are vis-
iting at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Jamieson.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Tay-
lor of Oshawa spent the week-
end with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Taylor.
Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Warren,
Linda and Helen of London,
spent the weekend at the thence
of ,fr. and Mrs. Earl Lawson.
Mr. ,Murray Dale of Weston
spent the weekend with his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs, Vern Dale.

Despite 5.53 inches of rain-
fall during May, seeding of
spring grains has now been 'com-
pleted. Farmers were busy dur-
