On Jan. 2nd 20 adults of the
Fireside Forum met at the home
of Mr. and 'Mrs. Wm. Dolmage,
and the topic was New 'Cana-
dians. Mrs. Babcock, the presi-
dent, read the 'signpost and a
letter of thanks from the child-
ren's Aid Society for the ,Christ-
mas parcels. Library 'books were
exchanged. In our coummunity
the only new Canadians have
been a few hired men, who did
not stay long and did not mingle
much with the people. Agricul-
tural immigration has added
to the agricultural production.
The majority of New Canadians
whom we have met or know are
willing to work and save their
money. They pay high prices for
farms so have increased the
price of farm property. We have
not had any new Canadian fam-
ilies to welcome to our fawn
forum (but we always invite
strangers who are in the Com-
munity to come to our forum
and other gatherings. Rural peo-
ple can help new (Canadians set-
tle in the community by wel-
coming them, 'inviting them to
our homes and •gatherings, show
we axe willing to learn from
them as well as teach them, and
welome them as we would like to
he treated in a strange land.
