The teachers and pupils of St. Andrew's United Church have been ;busy preparing for their annual 'Christmas concert ;being held tonight, 'Thurs.' 22. Bob Love of Dec.the Univer- sity of Toronto is visiting his parents; Mr. and 1VIrs, Ross Love. A very severe snow storm has struck this district. Many of the back roads are in poor condition. BRODHAGEN The. Ladies' Aid of 'St. Peter's Lutheran Church held: their Christmas social on Thursday evening with 'their husbands as guests. A pot auck supper was enjoyed after which a progrann was very well performed by the Bornholm group. Everyone took part in Carol singing and the evening closed with the gift ex- change. Rev. and Mrs. Fischer were the recipients of two hand- made satin cushions and a kitch- en step-up stool from the Aid. The 'basement was very ,prettily decorated with aChristmas tree, streamers, wreaths etc. The 'Brodbagen School con- cert was held at 'the school on Friday evening. A. prize was also given for the seller of the first prize 'ticket which went to Rog- er•Sholdiee who received a large plush black and yellow panda bear. Miss Dietz who made the draw also received a mechanical toy elephant. Santa ;Claus came at the close of the program and distributed gifts, candy and or- anges. A lighted Christmas tree and other decorations were dis- played in the school room. Legion Hockey Schedule Drawn Up Saturday morning hockey spon- sored by the Legion got under wary on Saturday with about 80 boys showing up, and more ex- pected. The main thing was to pick the teams and get organized for the first scheduled game next week, The boys were split in 9 groups. Boys 12 to 15 years will he Group A; 9 to 12 years, Group B, and boys 8 and down Squirts. Any boy still wishing to play is in time if he reports to the arena any Saturday morning.
