'The WMIS. and W.A. meeting
of 'Burns' 'Church was held at

:On Monday evening 16 :adults
of the Fireside Farm Forum anet
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
George Hoggart to :discuss farm
accounts. Farm accounts differ
greatly with the type o'f„ farm-
ing carried on. In our locality
we have mixed farming, wuuite
some have only fruit, stock or
cash crop. It certainly is an ad-
vantage to 'keep scourers for in-
come tax purposes. It shows
plainly if ,the year's :operations
have been 'profitable and !wwhi'ch
'has given greatest returns. It
gives the farmer a tihance to
check on his work and see where
he aright lower expenses. Suit-
able papers for farm accounts
may be secured free :from the
:office of the Dept. of Agricul-
ture. The :majority thought too
many detailed accounts are a
waste of time, The amount spent
on many small items could just
be entered under one heading.
Library books were distribut-
ed and a few games 'played. Most
games, Mrs. Hulley, Geo. Cart-
er; one hands, Mrs. 'Bob Dal-

large turkey (banquet for 'direct-
ors, officials and special speak-
ers of the Huron 'Federation of
Agriculture. A splendid attend-
ance was on hand for the after-
noon meeting with hall being
packed.
McKILLOP
The S. S. 2, McKillop Farm
Forum meeting was held Mon-
day evening at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Secord McBaien, The
topic of discussion was, Why
keep farm accounts? Every far-
mer must be skilled in many
trades and most important of
all he must be a good manager.
It was felt that nowadays every
farmer does keep account of
his total income and expenses,
thereby getting a' better picture
of his financial transactions of
the year. The simplest and (brief-
est records will do the jolt if
kept faithfully during the year.
A. social hour was spent playing
euchre. Winners were, ladies'
most games, Mrs. Sam Storey;
ladies' lone (hands, Mrs, Elwood
Clarke; consolation,' Mrs. W. R.
Scott. Men's most games, W. R.
Scott; lone hands, Wayne Dol -
mage; consolation, Ephraim
Clarke, Next Monday evening's
meeting will be held at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. McMillan.
