'The afternoon was spent in so-
cial conversation, and they pre-
sented her with a chenille 'bed-
spread, also a remenilbrance rfor
John Lou. Mrs. Johnson thanked
thein. ,A. delicious lunch was
served by Mrs. John Deitz, Mrs.
Steve Murray, Mrs. Elmer Koeh-
ler and :Mrs. :Dominic Murray.
They all left Rvishing Mrs. John-
son, good luck and good health.

alterations the Cromarty feed
mill has been re -opened for busi-
ness and is now operating on
full time schedule with Mr. Don
Sohellenberger as manager.

The November meeting of the
W.A. was (held in the church on
Wed. afternoon, Nov. 23 with 20
ladies present. The president,
Mrs. Robt Taylor, presided. The
meeting opened with the theme
song. Mrs Harold Dowson read
the scripture lesson. The .devo-
tional leaflet was taken by Mrs.
Mervin Johnston, (Mrs. Louis
Taylor, Mrs. John Aldington and
'Mrs. Lee McConnell. Mrs. Glad-
ys Coleman gave a piano solo
and Mrs. Gordon Johnston gave
a reading.
The (business period (allowed.
The secretary's report was read.
The treasurer, Miss Rachel John-
ston, reported 2626:88 on (hand.
$'15 was voted toward the Polio
Victim Fund. Roll call for next
month to be answered with some
suggestions on how you want to
spend the money we made this
year. It was moved that we join
the Presbytery of the W.A. Mrs.
Louis Taylor gave •a fine report
on the W.A. :Convention held at
Goderich in 'October. Mr. Pitt
then proceeded with the election
of officers for 1956, which are
as follows:

Nov. meeting in the church with
19 members present, The meet-
ing opened by singing hymn 182.
Mrs. Bob Taylor had •charge of
the bible study period with Mrs.
J. McAsh and Mrs. F. McOly-
niont reading Bram Luke. Mrs.
Taylor led in prayer. Phe min-
utes of the 'October meeting
were read and adopted. The roll
call for Dec. will be a .Ohristmas
thought. There were 22 calls to
sbutins. Mrs. ,Plitt invited the la-
dies to the parsonage for the
(Dec. meeting. Mrs. S. Keyes
gave a talk on Dr. Sweitzer, and
she also read a poem from the
StUssionary Monthly. Mrs. ;Pitt
gave a very interesting talk on
the new study book. The closing
hymn was 367. Lunch was serv-
ed.

ing graduating students of the

competition held Friday even-

,School, a team from Lincoln
county upholding the affirm/IL
five, were successful over the
Huron county team of James
Scott of 'Blyth and Robt. (Broad-
foot of Brucefield•.
The sulbject delbated, "Resolv-
ed that -a .policy designed to en-
courage the establishment of
larger farms would he in the best
interest of Ontario farmers",
was upheld by Bd. iBrubacher of
Beaiusvi'le and Phyllis Wilmer
of Vineland.
Judges were George Eaton,
Vineland, fruit and vegetable
Heldman for Lincoln county;
Bob Allan of Brucefield, past
president of :Huron :County Jun-
ior (Farmers and now on the ,pro-
vincial (board, and L. P. Plum -
steel, principal of Seaforth Dis-
trict High School

chaired the meeting; Lois Jones
of :Clinton, president of Huron
County Junior Institute, was
timekeeper and Arthur Bolton,
assistant agricultural represent-
ative for Huron, was scrutineer.
$2500 FOR H. S. LIBRARY
L. P. Plunisteel, principal of,

has been notified by ;National
Trust, Toronto, that $1,000 is.
available this .year from the
Scott Memorial •Scholarship Fund
'versify College, Toronto.
In 'case the $2,500 is not -fully
claimed in any one year, the will
states that the residue interest
may be used to purchase books
for the 'sohool library.
Last year 1$521 was made
available to the school for this
purpose with the amount this
year being doubled.
