a setting of multi -colored gladi-
oli with stephanotis and tall
lighted tapers on October 8, for
the marriage of Theresa Mary,
eldest daughter of Mrs. William
J. Feeney, Dublin ,and the late
Mr. Feeney, to Mr. Frederick
David Overdulve, Hamilton, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Overdulve
of Chatham. Rev. J. A. Feeney,
St. Peter's Cathedral, London,
uncle of the bride, officiated at
the double ring ceremony and
the Nuptial High Mass, Rev. J.
B. Ffoulkes, D.C.L. was in the
sanctuary. The organist was
Mrs. William Lane and .the so-
loists were Miss Helen' Horan
and Miss Alice Ryan.

ey, dame -liter of Mrs. Nora 'Ma-
loney. An address of congratu-
lation was read by Ed Rowland
and the presentation of a purse
of ;money was made by Gib
Murray. Dancing was enjoyed to
bhe Norris Orchestra and lunch
was served by the sponsors and
assistants.

The meeting opened by singing

Mrs, Leonard Leeming led in
prayer. The scripture readings
were given by Mrs. )Chas. IRoyd,
Mrs. (Stanley FIillen. Mrs. Leon-
ard Leeming and Teenie Dennis;
each one gave a short exellana-
tion of the scripture passage,
after 'which hymn 356 was sung..
The topic "Newcomers are
Neighbors" was given Eby Teenie
Dennis as leader, and Mrs. Ev-
erett .Beuremann, Mrs. Don
Dennis and Mrs. Ralph McNinol
assisting. Mrs. Earl Mills then
gave an interesting and helpful
account of the days she spent as
a WIifS. delegate at Alma Ool-
lege in St. Thomas. This was en
joyed by all. The president,
'Teenie Dennis conducted the
business part of 'hire meeting and
thanked all who helped in any
way. The thankoffering envel-
opes were received.
Mrs. Wdn. Hoe opened the
W. IA. aneeting with a short
grayer. Minutes of the previous
:meeting were read and adopted.

members. Mrs. Roe reminded nes

to be held at the church on
Thursday evening, Oct. 13th.
British Knit •dernonstration will
be held at No, 9 school on Wed-

traditional white brocaded satin
featuring neckline, and standup
collar at back, long lilyipoint
sleeves and a voluminous skirt.
ITer finger-tip veil of embroid-
ered illusion was held in place
by a crown of (brocaded satin,
and she carried a bouquet of rod
roses. The plaid of honor was
Miss Patricia Costello, cousin of
the bride, who was fashioned in
a waltz -length strapless .gown of
coral pink with matching lace
bolero and bandeau of net. The
bridesmaids were Miss (Cecelia
Feeney, sister of the bride and
Mrs. John Boyce, ,Chatham, sist-
er of the bridegroom, wearing
identically styled waltz -length
gowns of blue. They had
matching jackets and band-
eaus of net and their flowers
were nosegays of mixed flowers.
The flower girl was Maryka
Athena, Clinton, wearing a
fluor -length gown of blue taf-
feta, and carried a basket of
mixed flowers. The ringbearer
was Gordon Boyce, nephew of
the (bridegroom. The best anan
was Mr. Zack Bourque, Hamil-
ton, and the ushers were Mr.
Pat Feeney and Mr. John Over-
dulve.
A dinner was served at Hill-
crest Tea Room, Mitchell, to ap-
proximately fifty guests, where
the table was centred with a
three-tier wedding cake, bou-
quets of gladioli and asters.
Later a reception was held at
the home of the bride's mother,
Mrs. Feeney received the guests
(wearing a frock of maroon
crepe with blue accessories and
matching corsage, She was as-
sisted by the bridegroom's
mother gowned in an ensemlbie
of navy blue with black and
;white accessories and corsage
of white roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Overdulve left
on a' honeymoon trip to Northern
Ontario. The bride chose for
travel an ensemble .of gray with
navy accessories and corsage of
red roses. Guests at the wed-
ding were present from Chat-
ham, Hamilton, London, Cent-
ralia, Pontiac, Mich.

Mr. and Mrs B. 'Buechert were
visited: by his father and friend
from down east on Thanksgiving
Day.
Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Swartz-
entruber were to London three
times last week with their son
Grant who received an eye in-
jury and had to have it treated
in that city.
Mrs. Elva Young and family
and friends of Hamilton spent
the weekend and Thanksgiving
Day with Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Hey.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Erb were
visited by, her ,brother on Sun-
day.
Mr. Gordon Erb and twin
slaughters were to Toronto on
'Sunday to hear the great evan-
gelist, Mr. W. Graham,
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Finlay
and family were visited by Mr.
and Mrs. Lester Osborne and
,family on Thanksgiving day.

THE ORPHEUS CHOIR
The ISchneideVOrpheus Male
Ohoir, which appears at North-
side 'United ''Church, Seaforth,
on Wednesday, October 26th, is
probably the most travelled male
chorus in Ontario. Since its or-
ganization in 1947, the Choir has
travelled a total of approximate-
ly 15,009 miles in Canada and
the United States.
The Session of Northside Un-
ited Church, which is sponsor-
ing this concert, is pleased to be
able to ,present the Schneider
Orpheus Choir, and is anticipat-
ing a capacity audience,

Members of Mrs. 03rodie's
ISunday ISchool class gathered at
her hems, and accompanied by
their teacher visited a nearby
bush and dug baskets of soil
which they 'carried back to the
house. 'Here they dug from the
garden about 85 'California
accia ferns which they planted
in flower pots. These they sold
in town, realizing $6.70 for the
Red ICross. These enterprising
boys and gills were Arthur
Anent, Wilfred ISmith, Fred
Scott, Stanley Nichol, Frank
(Cooke, Agnes MoCloy and An-
nie Brodie.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Twiss and
son IDonald left. on Tuesday for
Brantford where they will make
their hone.
Mr. Joe Bolton of north of
Winthrop had an accident while
driving in Walton with his two
sisters. A buggy •coming from the
opposite direction dashed ' into
them breaking bhe buggy and
Mr. Bolton was )badly bruised.
Luckily the ladies were unhurt.
The horse was not found for a
couple o(f days.
IA. Dunkin of Varna had a
shoulder dislocated durinlg the
races at Bayfield fair when his
sulky collided with another.
The prizes donated by Mr. H.
Edge for draw in aid of the Red
