of Ontario, officially opened the 110th annual Sea -
forth Fall Fair on. Friday. The ceremony was held in
the arena at Seaforth Community Centre, when rain
made it impossible to carry on outdoors. Seated be-
hind the Lieutenant Governor is Russell Bolton, Mc-
Killop township, .president of Seaforth Agricultural

The first meeting of the C. G.
L T. was held at the home of
the 'Somerville girls on Satur-
day night Sept. 17th. The aneet-
ing opened with the members
repeating the CGIT purpose,
followed by singing the .CGIT
hymn. Mrs. Toll was in charge
of the aneeting. Vie 'Call to
Worship was given, followed byy
hymn 488 "Conte let us sing of
a wondeliful Love", and the
Lord's prayer was repeated in
unison. The scripture was read
by Marjorie Boyd, and Merger -

ship of McKillop it was decided to ask the Rate-
payers to please tut the grass and weeds on the
frontage of their properties as soon as possible,
without remuneration.
At the same time the Council expressed appreci-
ation to those Ratepayers who already had co-
operated in cleaning weeds from areas adjacent to

ed by a reading by Jean Hillen.
We 'Olsen had the business, with
the roll call of 16 anenibers pre-
sent. Mrs. Toll led in a discus-
sion on organizing a C'GIT for
the second year. The election of
the new officers are as follows:

Leader, Mrs. E. Toll; pianist,

Francis Blanchard and Mar-
garet Alexander volunteered to
take over the recreation for the
next meeting which will be held
on Oct. 15th in the church. The
ones in charge of the lunch
committee are Lois Ann 'Solner-
ville, Georgina Little and Shir-
ley Dolmage. At the closing of
our meeting we enjoyed a social
hour in the form of a weiner
roast. The aneeting closed with
"Taps".

Mrs. Wm. Haigh and daugh-
ter, Mary, of Exeter visited
their friend, Mrs. H. Finlay and
family; and also attended the
shower at Hillsgreen for a cou-
sin, Miss Elea Love, bride -elect
of next week.
Mr. and !Mrs. Sant Hey return-
ed hoane after a week spent in
Hamilton with their grandchild-
ren Sherry and Terry Young.
Messrs Hugh McBride of Lon-
don, and brother Jahn of Gosh-
en Line, and Elmer ,Oeseh re-
turned to their home last Friday
after spending about 6 weeks
around 'Gamrose, Alberta. While
there they helped with the har-
vest and John worked with his
uncle on oil wells out there.

Fair last week and the Zurich
and Bayfield Fairs this week.
Several attended the Martin
iSteckle wedding at the Mennon-
ite Church in Zurich on Thurs-
day afternoon last, and on Sat-
urday, the 'Steelde-Erb wedding.

on Wednesday, 'Sept. 21 with 16
members present. The meeting
opened with theme song. - Mrs.
Orrin Dowson read the scripture
and led in prayer. Thoughts on
the lesson were read by Mrs.

lor presided over the business
period, It was decided to hold

The nvedding of Miss Marilyn
Mary Munn to D'Arcy 'Charles
Beckstead took place on .Satur-
day in St. Paul's United 'Ohurch,
Perth, adorned with pastel color-
ed gladioli and mums. Tho bride
is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Harold H. Munn of Perth, and
the groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Grant B. 'Beckstead of Ot-
tawa.
Dr. W. R. Alp, assisted by
Rev. I. N. •Beckstead of Ottawa,
performed the ceremony. Soloist
was Mrs. Roy (Clark, aunt of the
bride, and the bride's .grand-
mother, Mrs. Mamie Spencer,
played the wedding ..music.
Given in marriage _ by her
father, the bride was attended
by Miss Marion C. Becksteacl as
maid of honor, Miss 'Anita Munn
and Miss Lynne Munn, sisters of
the bride, as bridesmaids. Miss
J. Clarke acted as flower girl,
Best man was Willis MGCormick
of Marvelville, Ont. and ushers
were Robert J. Munn, brother
of the bride and Emile Salch of
Montreal. Jackie 'Barkley of
iChesterville, Ont. was ring -
bearer. For her wedding the
bride chose a Paris model gown
of 'white satin and nylon lace,
styled with a close -fitting bodice
and hipline and a Trull skirt, lace
inserts, sequins, pearls and
rhinestones adorned the gown.
Her long veil was edged with
lace and held in place by a head-
dress of tulle trimmed with
pearls, sequins and rhinestones.
She carried a 'bouquet of Amer-
ican Beauty roses.
Following a reception in the
blue room of Hotel Perth, the
bride and the groom left on a
honeymoon trip to Western On-
tario. The 'bride wore a navy
gabardine suit with pink acces-
sories and a corsage bouquet of
pink roses, for travelling. 'On
their return they will make their
home in Ottawa.
