S. Thomas, Minister of Agrieul-
tune for Ontario.
It is with a very real appreci-
ation of the contribution that
the Seaforth Agricultural Soci-
ety has made to the community
that I extend any 'congratulations
and beat wishes on this, your
'Centennial year.
I am sure that it must be with
a great sense of satisfaction
that your officers and mernlbers
both past and present, view in
retrospect the a'cdomiplishments
of a century of public service.
The Seaforth Agricultural So-
ciety has long been noted for
its activity an advancing all
things for the good of agricul-
ture and the community as a
whole. Throughout . its entire
bistoa'y it has done much to fos-
ter mutual understanding and
respect between our rural and
uhiban people.
May your public-spirited ef-
fort long continue.

Mrs. Barrington and her fa-
ther, Mr, J. Gingerich of Al-
bany, Oregon, left after 'a few
weeks' time visiting their many
relatives and friends in and
around Blake.

ich and daughter Mrs. Miller
and granddaughter, 'Charlotte,
of Kitchener, called on 'Mrs.
Harold Finlay and family.
Master Bobbie 'Donahue .of
London, Brian and Rickey Must-
ard of Brueefield are visiting
their. grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Sane Hey.
Mr. Bob Dinsmore left for
Windsor on Sunday 'after spend-
ing six weeks with his uncle and
aunt, Mr. and 'Mrs. 'Thomas
Dinsmore and 'cousins, Mr. and
Mrs. James .Dinsmore.
Mr. William Clarke returned
home after spending a vacation
of 2 weeks. •
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gingerich
spent a couple of days at (Ches-
ley ,Lake.
Mrs. Harold Finlay and fam-
ily visited Mrs. Hugh McMiir-
trie in Hensall one evening.
A number of relabivas and
schoolmates of Mrs. Harrington
of Albany, (Oregon, 'held a reun-
ion for her on Sunday afternoon
Aug. 21, 1955 at Jowett's Grove
in Bayfield. After noon hour e.
service was ''held on the ]awn. A
men's quartette composed of
Mr. Alvin Gingerich, Mr. Stan-
ley Gingericlh, Mr, Newell Gei-
ger and Mr. Ephraim Gingeric'h
and a 'ladies' quartette composed
of 4 sisters, Mrs. Keith Ginger
loll, Mrs. Kenneth Gascho, Mrs.
Earl Oesch and Mrs. Bowman;
and the three little Oesah sist-
ers, Judy, Faye, .Susan, sang two
numbers after which Mrs. Har-
rington spoke to the large gath-
ering after which her father,
Mr. Jacob Gingerich spoke a few
words, he being 83 yrs. old and
hoped everyone would follow
Christ's way of life and give
himself in the Lord's great
work. Mr. Ephraim Gingerich
then spoke a few well chosen
words. After this the quartets
again sang. A collection was ta-
ken amounting to some $60.00
which 'was given Mr. Gingerich
to go to a mission work in Ore-
gon for which he thanked them.
Everyone left wishing them a
safe journey (bade home. Friends
were present from Hamilton,
Kitchener, :Baden ,Shakespeare,
New Hamburg, 2furioh, Blake.

Rohner, Brucefield on Sunday,
Aug. 28th. This was the ooca-
sion of the 90th birthday of
Mrs. Bella Lawrason, Bayfield,
sister-in-law of Mrs. Bohner.
Friends from Mitchell, Varna,
Stratford and Bayfield were in
attendance. Mrs. Lawrason re-
ceived many congratulation
cards and lovely gifts.

spent a 'few days fishing.

held a successful weiner roast

William Roe,- with about 60 pre-
sent. An impromptu program of
singing, contests, Mary Dennis
played her accordian, and John
Burtch This guitar, a trio, Gerald-
ine Dennis and Jean and Mar-
garet Hillen sang a couple of
songs.
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Menzies
of Vietoria, B.C. visited at the
Dennis Koine and Mrs. Cuthill
in Seaforth.
BRODHAGEN
The Cemetery Decoration Ser-
vice was held at St. Peter's Lu-
theran Church on Sunday after-
noon with a large crowd present.
A short service was held en the
cemetery grounds with Rev. E,
Fischer in charge. The Brod-
hagen Band led the singing.
"Nearer My God to Thee" was
played as a cornet solo by Clare
French and one minute silence
was observed. Service followed
in the church. Mrs. Wm. tSiemon
Sr. was the only death during
the past year.
Miss Jean Mueller accompan-
ied her aunt and uncle, Mr. and
Mrs. Reed of Lansing, Mich., to

Burns' Ohuroh met at 1Iarlock
School, No. 6, Thursday after-
noon, Aug. 25th where they en-
tertained the children of Mis-
sion and Belay Band. There was
a good attendance and Mission
and !Belay Band collection for
year was 325.00. Meeting open-
ed with a story read by Mrs.
John Riley, leader of Mission
and Baby Band. Myrtle Knox
and Jennie Morue gave a lovely
piano duet followed by a read-
ing by Noreen McEwing. .Mrs.
Tam Allan of Londeslboro show-
ed very interesting pictures of
their trip this summer. Mrs. Roe,
group leader of 'No. 3, then took
over the MTS. meeting in the
absence of the president, Mrs.
White. Proceeds of the 'capper.
Contest were 452.70. Meeting
closed with a hymn after which
a lovely lunch was served.
