Farewell Party For
Mr., Mrs. J. Downey
Mr. and Mrs..Joseph Downey
and daughter Ann, of Beech-
wood have moved to the resi-
dence on West William St.,
purchased from W. E. South-
gate.
On Wednesday evening last
a farewell party, was held at
their home when a large numb-
ber of friends .and neighbors
gathered. The evening was spent
in music and dancing, with Wil-
fred McQuaid and Harold Ma-
loney on the violins. An ad-
dress was read by John L. Ma-
lone and the presentation was
made by Wilfred Maloney.
Mr. and Mrs.- Richard Down-
ey are movng to. the farm.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Downey
and Ann,— It is with mixed
feelings that we gather here
this evening to bid you-'' farewell
and to wish you/ many years of
happiness in your new 'home.
Regret is certainly the pre-
dominant feeling with us as no
community can lose such wond-
erful neighbors without leaving
a void which will be next to im-
possible to fill. On the other
hand we rejoice with you know-
ing you will be taking a well
deserved rest.
In memory of our pleasant
associations may we be allowed
to present these small gilts.
Signed — Your Friends and
neighbors.
