The Hone and School gave a banquet to the graduating class, and the evening was agent in square dancing. Rev. and Mrs. R..11, Williams of Detroit attended the Presby- torian Assembly in Toronto, and Mrs. McKellar returned to Sea - forth with theta on Tuesday evening. Mr, and Mrs. Williams left Wednesday for Detroit. Mrs. J. A. Brodie, and son Douglas, of Toronto, and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Scott of Auburn, who were here to attend the funeral of the late Mrs. R. J. Beatty, were guests on Tuesday of Mr. and Mrs. James Aitche- son, Goderich St. Mr. and Mrs. John Hotham, Leone and Sharon, Mr. John Hotham Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Clay- ton Laithwaite •of Goderich, Mr, and Mrs. Duncan 'Cooper of Clinton, were at Strathroy on Wednesday attending the fun- eral of the late William Hotham, Mr. J. R. Sproat of North Bay was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Sproat and other relatives last week. Mrs. Julia Flannigan and Miss Julia Flannigan and Mr. and Mrs. Peter McIver attended the Johnson — Lopatriella wedding in Welland on Saturday. F10 and Mrs. R. A. Carter and little daughter Janice Ellen spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fowler. Mr. and Mrs. Gratton Flanni- gan, Hamilton, visited with friends over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hayes, Detroit, were weekend guests of Mrs. R. S. Hays and Mrs. C. P. Sills. Mrs, ,Crysler MoQuire, of Port Colborne, is spending a few days with Mr, and Mrs. E. C. Boswell, and Mr. and Mrs. U. D. Clarke, Sarnia, are at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Mullen. Mr. and Mrs. J. 5, Longstaff left on Saturday to spend a week at Philadelphia, Pa., while Mr. Longstaff is taking a post- graduate course at Pennsylvania State College of Optometry. About 25 members of Britan- nia 1VIasonic Lodge were in De- troit over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. D. Barber, Kit- chener, were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Matthews. Mr. and Mrs. D. MacDonald, Stratford, spent Sunday with friends here., Mr. Ray Henderson has ac- cepted a position .on the staff of the Toronto -Dominion Bank. The study which was taken from the study book was given by Mrs. H. Caldwell and Mrs. W. Jones. Mrs. Geo. Hess of Hensall fav- ored with a solo accompanied, by Miss Gladys Luker. Mrs. R. M. Peck discussed briefly Christian Citizenship. Mrs. Kyle reviewed the July meeting to be held at the home of Mra. 3. Sinclair with the Baby Band and Mission Band to be in attendance. Mrs. Kyle then thanked all those taking part and Mr. A. Johnson ex- tended thanks to the hostess and co -hostess. The closing hymn was 556. A dainty lunch was served by Circle No. 2 - The W.A. held a short meet- ing with the president, Mrs. Harold Jones in charge. It was decided to have a Strawberry and Ham Supper, June 21st. The teachers and pupils of several Stanley Twp. schools en- joyed a bus trip to Detroit on Friday. Mr. Robt. Thomson visited on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Schneider in Stratford and Mr. and Mrs. Preistap and family of Mitchell. Mrs. K. Dinsdale and Miss Mabel Whiteman are visiting relatives in the U.S.A. Mr. and Mrs. S. Cudmore and Lorne of London were Sunday visitors with the farmer's par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cud - more. Alvin Ulch of Windsor visited on Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Norman Long.. Miss Donna McBride, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Mc- Bride, received highest marks in her ,class in her second year of nurse in training at Stratford General Hospital. Mrs. McClymont left on Mon- day to visit her daughters, Mrs. J. Schilbe in Exeter, Mrs. Alice Cook, London, and Mrs. J. Du- aharnie, Dashwood. The WMS. of 'St. Andrew's United Church met on Wednes- day night at the home of Mrs. Bruce McGregor with M'rs. Ralph Turner as co hostess. Mrs, E. Kyle opened the meeting with. hymn 488. The scripture lesson was given by Mrs. John Alexan- der and Mrs. Eldon Jarrett. Mrs. Kyle then led in prayer. The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. Mrs. Wilmer Jones, Associate Mem- bers Sec., read several thankyou. notes. Mrs. Allan Johnson re- ported that she and Mrs. McLeod had called on eight shutins. Mrs. 3. W. McLean and Mrs. Morley Houghton. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Moore and family, Lindsay, spent the week with Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Scott and Mrs. Moore. Mr. and Mrs. George Wallace spent a few days last week with Mr, and Mrs. Donald Wallace, Carlingford, Mrs, Wallace was a guest at the 60th anniversary of the Avonton Ladies' Aid. Mr. and Mrs, Frances Glos- sop and Bette visited on Sun- day with Mr. and Mrs, W. T. Duz`at, Wroxeter. Mrs. Elizabeth McDonald, Mr. Clive McDonald and family of Mitchell, visited on Sunday evening with Miss Olive Speare. A very successful sale was held for Mrs. Thos. Wren on Wednesday. Mrs. Wren has tak- en an apartment in Seaforth where she will reside. Mrs. C. Coleman, Mrs, J. Howe, Mrs. M. Houghton and Mrs. T. Laing attended the Dis- trict annual of the Women's In- stitute at Fullerton on Friday. Mrs. David Gardiner celebrat- ed her 80th birthday, on Thurs- day, with several members of her family visiting with her. NORTH MGKILLOP The Bethel W.M.S. and W. The meeting closed with the singing of hymn 239 followed by the benediction. Mrs. Wm. Roe opened the W. A. meeting. with a short prayer. Minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. 17 members answered the roll call and 2 visitors, At the close of the meeting, Mrs. Earl Mills read an address to Mrs. Living- stone, and Mrs. Wnz.
