Miss Rose Dorsey and Miss Greta Thompson attended a meeting of the Ontario Library Association at Fern Cottage, Atherley, on Monday. Dr. E. A. McMaster left on Monday to take a special medi- cal course at Atlantic City for ten days. Mr. and Mrs. Tom •Seotchmer and children Jim and Lynn of Guelph visited on Sunday with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm, Scotchmer. The many friends of Mr. Jahn Piper are sorry to know he is a patient in Scott Memorial Hos- pital, having suffered a heart attack in Toronto on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Cluff of North Tonawanda, N.Y., were visitors in town on Monday while visiting relatives. Mr. Cluff left Seaforth when a boy. He regrets he will be in Florida at the time of Seaforth Old Boys' Reunion. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Aiken - head are visiting friends in Western Canada. Miss Edna Jowett of Port Huron visited over the weekend with her cousin, Miss Florence turned to their home in Coiling- wood, Silndny, after spending the past two weeks with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bedford Dungey, where Mr. Hogg was recovering from a serious illness. Dr. and Mrs. E. A. McMaster and Paul were in Palmerston on Saturday attending the funeral of her brother, the late Eldred Arkell. Mr. and Mrs. Don Giffin, Sar- nia, visited Mrs. Grace Hog- garth and Miss MarionScarlett, over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Carter Woodstock, spent the weekend with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Keyes. F. 0. BRUCEFIELD The Young People's anniver- sary services at Brucefield Unit- ed (Church on Sunday morning had Mr. Ross Stanway, London, as guest speaker. He gave an able address from Matt. '7:6, "Cast ye not your pearls before swine," also Luke 2:42-52. He also stressed the point if we want to grow up as good citi- zens we must love our neigh- bors as ourselves. The quartette from Turner's Church, namely, Bert Pepper, Geo. Turner, Stan- ley Johns and Gordon Johns, sang two very effective numbers accompanied by Mrs. Jno. R. Murdoch. The choir sang "The Lord is My Life," and Robert Broadfoot, Allen Haugh, Neil Haugh and Bruce Walker receiv- ed the offering. Rev. Mr. Burton expressed thanks to the speaker, the choir of young people and those taking part in the service. Sgt. Peter Cooper of McDon- ald, Manitoba, is spending a few days with his wife and family. Mrs. Cooper will leave in a few days with Mr. Cooper to reside in McDonald, Manitoba. The Coopers will be missed in Bruce- field as they were very fine citi zens.
