THE C. O. C. REPORTS
Safety Week: The Chamber
wishes to thank Police Con-
stables Ferris and Christiansen,
our school teachers, the members
of our churches and the people
of Seaforth in bringing to a
successful conclusion our safety
week. During the week two
safety films were shown at St.
James and the public school and
all churches were asked to speak
to the children in the Sunday
Schools on safety.
Saturday we had our cycle
rodeo at the park. Thirty-five
cyclists were present and five
prizes were awarded to the
safest cyclists. We had hoped to
issue reflectors' to each cyclist
but, owing to the non -arrival of
these we issued coupons to the
children who may pick up their
reflectors at Daly Motors on
Wednesday or Thursday. P. C.
Ferris did the judging at the
rodeo and giving a helping hand
were Bruce Gehan and Merve
Nott.

TO THE RESIDENTS OF
SEAFORTH AND DISTRICT
As many of you *ill know by nownext week
is the big clean-up, paint -up and fix it campaign
sponsored by the Seaforth and District Chamber of
Commerce in conjunction with Old Boys Reunion.
As old boys come back to Seaforth, and strangers
visit our town for the first time, we would ask you
to show. them a • clean, shining town which we can
all be proud of. A fresh coat of paint, a general
clean-up, lawns and hedges trimmed, weeds errad-
icated and that back yard junk disposed of will
really give Seaforth a new look that will please both
residents and visitors alike. We thank you for the
co-operation which we know you will give us.

Seaforth Mayor Urges
Clean-up Co-operation
The local Chamber of Commerce is promoting a Clean -Up - Paint -Up
Campaign for Seaforth, commencing May 23. They are to be congratu-
lated on this worthwhile endeavor.
We have a lot to be proud of. We
have a beautiful Lions Park on the east-
ern entrance, that has brought many fine
comments to us from people throughout
the Province. We are soon to have a new
modern Swimming Pool.
Everyone should have pride in him-
self and pride in the Town he or she lives
in. A town is only as good as its citizens,
I have complete faith in the citizens of
my town of Seaforth. I feel quite certain
that they will respond to the important
appeal to make our Town just the best
looking town in Western Ontario.
We have good streets, lined with
beautiful maple trees — a sight to be
proud of from Spring to Fall. We have a
grand Bowling Green at the south end of
the town, and I think the most beautiful
flower garden on North Main St. that can
be found in Ontario.
The Centennial Committee areworking night and day to bring ail
our old boys and girls back home during Old Home Week. Let us make a
real effort to clean-up - paint -up, so they will arrive here in a daze of
admiration, and leave here proud that they belong to good old Seaforth.
Make those lawns and flower beds just a little better. Paint the house
this year instead of next year. Merchants: trim up the front of your store.
If these things are done, I know you will be proud of yourself as a
local citizen, and be proud of your Town of Seaforth.
E. A. McMASTER; Mayor
SEAFORTI-I, May, 14, 1955. .
