confined to St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, for the past three months
receiving treatment following an
operation on his leg. was able t.o re
turn to bis home here on Saturday
in the ambulance. Mr. Daniels' many
friends are pleased to hear he is
improving.

Thursday attending the funeral of
late James MacMartin, who died in
his 67th year, fallowing a lengthy
illness, The deceased was well
known in the village, having visited
here on many occasions. Surviving is
his wife, who was formerly Miss
Edith Bonthron, daughter of Mrs.
Robt, Bonthron, one son Charles of
Barrie and two daughters, Mrs, J.
Hickey, of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs.
Hal Hali'oyde of Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs, Percy Gramm and
family of Lansing, Mich„ were rec-
ent visitors wvith the former's par-
ents Mr. and Dirs. George Gramm.

The W.M.S. of the United Church
met for their July meeting on Wed-
nesday afternoon at the home of Mrs
J. C. Bell with a good attendance.
Mrs. Allan Johnston presided, The
meeting opened with a. responsive
reading and hymns were then sting.
Mrs. Johnston read the Scripture mrd
hymn 15 was then sung. Mrs. Hyde
then led in prayer. Mrs. W. Alexan-
der read the devotional leaflet. The
roll call and offering were then tak-
en. The topic in form of questions
and answers was in charge of_ Mrs.
H. McMurtrie, Kippen. Hymn 5 was
sung and the meeting closed with a
prayer, A dainty hutch }Vas served
by Circle No. 2.

tune to be badly scalded on the leg

rotes of the last meeting and the roll -
call wvhich the children answered Iby
naming a Canadian city. There were
fifteen members present. (Mrs. Ald-
worth read a story •entitled, "The
Fairy Who Lived in 'the !Lane." 'The
children 'built nrp a pra:yer. The meet-

ediction. A picnic w^as held on the
church lawn after the meeting, ,Laura

The children enjoyed :two hours' re-

Induction Held.—
Induction service for Rev. Mr.
Grant as pastor of Kippen and Hills -
green United Church charge was held
in Kippen United Church on Friday
evening, and was well attended by
members of both churches. The
service wvas in charge of Rev. Mair
of Thames Road and b,e addressed
the pastor, Rev, Currie of Bay-
field addressed the congregation.
Music was provided by the Kippen
Choir'. Following the service Mrs. J.
Henderson and Mr. W. Alexander
introduced the people to Rev. and
Mrs. Grant and family. Lunch was
served by the ladies and a social
time enjoyed. Mr. Grant, who comes
from Wroxeter', succeeds Rev. E. 1r.
Chandler who has been pastor here
for eight years and who has moved
to Parkhill.

Stewart of London were the guests
of Mr. and Airs. J. D. Stewart and
