The following is an extract from a
letter written on April 14th, recently
received from Miss B. Kik, who
was visiting friends iu Vancouver,
B.C. "It's just lovely here. The
mountains are like friends and the
flowers and shrubs are simply gorge-
ous. I ean't find words to express to
you the beauty of them!" She also
went on to tell of her visit to Mr.
and Mrs. George McCall who live at
Victoria, who left Loudesboro
about
a year ago and now are running a
nice grocery store there. The Me-
Calis took her for a drive out to the
Malahat as far as Cobble Hill and
crossed on the ferry to Briutwood to
their cottage at Prospect Point,
where very large evergreen trees 00
the front lawn and a rustic bridge
over a little stream, made a very
beautiful look -out. At the back of
the cottage the ground was covered
with wild lilacs, which were very
beautiful. Right across from Mr.
McCal'is these is a tulip field with
thousands of tulips in bloom In a
wonderful splash of color, I'll never
be able to tell you the beauty of
this place." Those are just a few of
the highlights of Vancouver. Miss
Birk intends to be home by the 1st
of .tune.
