Strangled By Swing Rope—
The sympathy of all in this com-
munity goes out to Mr. and Mrs.
George M. Taylor, Lot 10, Concession
12, East lVawanosh whose fifteen
month old daughter, Claire Ann. died
of strangulation while playing on a
swing atthe home. Tuesday morn-
ing, The child was playing at the
swing which hung from a maple tree
near the rear corner of the house.
In some unknown manner she be-
came tangled in the twisted swing
rope and had passed on when :mind

In a severe eleetrical storm two
Howuk farmers. George Baker. lith
line resident, had two fine heavy
draught horses. five and three years
old, killed within a short distance of
the barn. Kenneth Hastie, west of
Borrie. suffered the loss of seven
head of young rattle when they were
hit in an open field, about twenty
rod, from the barn during the early
fury of the storm—Ford'wich Record.

Ear! Zimmer, 26 year old Crediton

ceived in an explosion. His head
was cut and his face badly burned.

McCormick's Careers, north of
Winglrant. on No. 4 highway. The

hospital where he was reported in
serious condition, ,suffering concus-
sion and bri,ken -ribs. He was ;senti-
contt'ious for some tithe. A passeng-
er. Mrs, it,,berr Chalm•ss, suffered a
broken bone in her beg and her hus-
band suffered minor bruises. The ac -
cadent was investigated by Huron
County Constable William Gardiner.
Traffic officer Norman Lever, of
Clinton, was summoned but he was
busy investigating a crash on the
I,uckrow•Dnngannott road. iu which
Kenneth McKay. of Ripley. collided
with a herd of rattle grazing on the
road. One of the carie was Sadly in-
