War Time Committee
Met In Zurich—
The Hensall District War Time
Citizens' Committee met in Zurich
on Thursday evening with the press
dent. Dr. A. R. Campbell in the chair.
Rev. Turkhedm gave the opening
prayer Reports were given by the

by the overseas committee. It was
decided that the territory that the

the action by Mr. Campbell in act-
ing with deputy registrars to ask for
volunteers, W. Siebert of Zurich was
appointed chairman of a committee
to look after an assistant to assist
the deputy registrars. A Frolic will
be held in the near future. The fol-
lowing committee appointed to Iook
after same, Messrs, (. M. Drysdale,
Fred Beer. LeRoy O'Brien, Zurich.

A well attended meeting of the
deputy registrars of the Huron -Perth
riding was held in the town hall at
Hensall on Friday evening. Mr. W. L.
Whyte. chairman of -the voluntary re-
gistration eomntittee, was (Mailman.

has done and gave several suggest-
ions as how to plan their work. A
meeting will be held on Friday even.

WILL NOT REVIVE
THE HURON REGIMENT
The offer and acceptance of the
post of second -in -command of the
Middlesex -Huron Regiment by Lieut-
enant-Colonel H. 0. Dunlop of Godt
rich, was announced by J. D, Thomas
president of Goderich, at a meeting of
the citizen's wartime committee on
Monday night, after he had reviewed
the work of the committee regarding
its efforts to secure the re-establish-
ment of the Huron Regiment as part
of the nun -permanent active militia.
Dir. Thomas said the appointment
resulted after negotiations sponsored
by the citizens' wartime committee
had been entered into with Brigadier
U. J. MacDonald, commander of Mil-
itary District No. 1, London, to have
the Huron Regiment revived, The
committee bud been informed that
the Department of National Defence
decided not to revive any of the regi
tosuts disbanded in 1036,
