DUBLIN
Mr. Matthew McGrath, for many
years a resident of his native Mitch-
ell, died on Saturday in Ottawa. The
funeral was held in London. Deceas-
ed lived in London for over twenty
Years, and then later became con-
nected with the Civil Service at Ot-
tawa. He is aUrvivecl by a sister
Bridget of Stratford and a brother
.John of Dublin. Funeral services
here celebrated in St. Peter's Cath-
edral.
Harry McIver, former star of St.

ported to be in serious condition,
following an operation In Toronto,

Sister Agnes McGrath, the oldest
member of the Order of St, Joseph
community, Loll clout, spied Friday. She
had been a resident at the Sacred
Heart Convent for over 117 years, Sis-

years. Thele .are no immediate sur-
vivors. Requiem High Mass was -cel-

The Red Cross tea last Friday
evening held in the school room of
the church, was a great success. In
all over fifty dollars was made,
The display of refugee clothings
was a credit to the people of Bruce -
field and the neighborhood. Besides
clothing for men, women and child-
ren, there were fourteen quilts and
some woollen blankets. The Branch
here had sent thirty-six woolen blan-
kets previous to this. Some who did
not send clothing sent money. Credit
is also due to the committee 1n.
charge.
Mrs. Hohner has returned home
from Goderich.
Mr. Bob Dalrymple and Mr, Jim
Burdge have enlisted.

Last week early frost on Wednes-
day night damaged some of the vege-
table crop slightly but the cloudy
sky and early rata on, Thursday:
morning revived it and the damage
was slight.
