BRUCEFIELD.
.Mr, Thomas Hynes, of Toledo,
passed away at the home - of Mrs.
James McDonald, on Saturday, aged
sixty-six years. _About four weeks
ago, i'vtr. Hynes came ` fel a short
visit from London, where he had
been visiting his nephews, and while
here suffered a paralytic stroke
from which he did not recover. The
funeral took place 'Tuesday morning
toMount Pleasant cemetery, London,
Mr, 'Hynes' sisters, Mrs. Clark of
Cleveland, and Mrs, Hodgins of Tol-
edo, were here for the funeral.

in the Goderich Fair on Thursday
last and report good exhibits.
Mr. James ;Walker has returned
from Flint, Mich., where he was visit-
ing friends, his' daughter Mary re-
mainiisg for a few days longer.
Mr, and Mrs. Thos. Coleman are at
present visiting at the home of their
son-in-law, Mr. Cecil Oke, and
assisting the young couple with the
work of threshing.
Messrs. Swan and Chapman, vet-
eran threshers, are now finishing up
their threshing operations in this
vicinity and report excellent yields of
grain.
Mr. Thos. Colwell, who is ,always
up with his work, sowed a field of
wheat about ten' days. ago. After -the
recent rains the field presents a 'beau-
tiful mantle of green. -
Mr. -Harry Dalrymple, lineman for
the Tuckersmith Rural Telephone
System, was on the second conces-
sion east of the village last week
making, certain necessary adjust-
ments in connection with the working
