Those who are lucky enough to
have flivvers, have certainly •found
benefit of them this week in going
to Clinton Old Boys' reunion.

During the thunderstorm last
Sunday Mr. J. M. Eckart's hay barn
was struck by lightning. The drive
sited and 'hen house attached to it
were hurried, hut by his efforts, he
saved most of the implements with
the assistance of the :neighbors. By
forming a 'bttcicet brigade they man-
aged to save the Large barn which
was only 12 feet away-. The Sea -
forth fire brigade, answering to the
call, arrived in time to relieve those
sten who worked so faithfully, :lir.
Eckert sincerely expresses his grati-
tude to the large number who took

Mr. Herbert Fowler lost his car,
garage and driveshed With their
contents, by fire early Friday
morning. About 4 o'clock ;Mr.
'Fowler was awakened by the crackl-
ing of the flames, and ,with the
prompt assistance of the neighbors
a Bucket 'brigade was formed and
'by hard work the house was saved,
as it caught fire several -tunes from
the -burning garage. It is thought, the
fire started from a short circuit in
the wiring of the car.
