PRESBYTERY OF HURON.
The Presbytery of Huron 'held its
regular 'meeting on May 12th at Clin-
ton, with the •following present:
Messrs. Abery, acting moderator;
Drs. Fletcher and Larkin, Ferguson,
'Gilmour, .Abp, Telford, Hogg, Grant,
Chidley, Macfarlane, McDermid, Mc-
Connell, Foote and Ilamilton. minis-
ters, and Messrs. Haugh, Dodds, Mel-
ville, Strachan, McNay, Laidla,,v,
Kirke, Higgins, Fraser, Buchanan
and Weir, elders. Mr. Abery resigned
his position as ,moderator and his
resignation was accepted. The meet-
ing was regularly 'begun with praise,
reacting of the word and prayer by
Mr. McDonald. There wore present
also Mr. Anderson, of India, Mr.
Monteith, of the Presbytery of Sar-
nia, and Mr. Meyers o.f the staff of
young people's "work, and these were
reedved by the Presbytery and asked
to sit •and correspond. The session
records 'of 'Blyth and' !Grand .Bend
.and Corbett were presented for exam-
ination and committees were appoint-
ed for that purpose and Macy were ex-
amined and certified acoordingly: No
changeswere made in the list of
commissioners to. the General As-
sembly. Mr. Gilmour was appointed
to',convey greetings to the W.M.'So-
ciety at Brucefield at the September
meeting. The :protest of Dr. Larkin
and others was .presented by thbm and
laid be the table. At the afternoon
session the resignation if his charge
was presented 'by. Mr. McConnell,
of IIensall, and representations there -
whir were heard from some of the
Hensall congregation. The resigna-
tion was accepted. The resignation
'of Mr. Macfarlane is to be considered
at a special meeting at Bayfield, at 2
o'clock lin the afternoon of Tuesday,
May 26th.

cessful bee last Tuesday erecting a
cement wall for a straw shed for
:which Mr, Ben. Riley. of Constance,
had the contract, and a first-class
job was done, Mr. Coleman is a busy
man this summer as he is renovating
his kitchen by putting a cement foun-
dation under it, as it was badly
wrecked by the wind storm last fall.

the land for corn and beans.

John Michell went to 'Lambeth on
Tuesday to attend the funeral of the
late Mrs. Jacob Terryberry.
Next Sunday being conference Sun-

oil paintings -and the entire Church
looks very beautiful.

gun, is to be sent to Wingh'ann from.

C. W. Williams, Sir,, of Godedich.
twp., died on May 9th. He was the
twenty-seventh in direct line to bear
the old family name of Charles White,
and his eldest son and grandson, in
turn, also bear the name. A family
of seven survive t s t vrve him besides his
widow. One son Frank, who was a
member of the Toronto detective
force, was •s'ho't by 'a burglar some
years ago,
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Welsh and
daughter Lenore, were on ''a motor
trip to London, 'Hamilton and To-
ronto.
Mr. 'Geo. Middleton, who has been
attending -the school .of pharmacy in
Toronto, has a position in Windsor.
Mrs. P. E. Stewart, of Fargo, N.D.,
visited .her brothers, - Messrs. Chas.
and henry Peacock. It is 30 years
since Mrs. Stewart was in Clinton
before.
