In the passing of Mrs. Thos. Lane
on \\iednesday, April 8th, Tucker -
smith lost one of 'its oldest residents,
after an illness of ten days. Mrs.
Lane was is daughter of the late
James Jones, of Dorchester, England;
where she was born 81 years ago.
She was married in London, where
they lived for twelve years, coining
to Canada fifty-two years ago and
settled at Grataton on the London
road, two and a half miles south of
Clinton. Thirty-six years ago they
moved to their farm near Brucefield,
where Mr. Lane died twenty years
ago. Five sons and three daughters
mourn the loss of -a kind and ,loving
mother: Chaf•les and Lucy, on the.
homestead; Thb,ntas on the Mill" road;
Ethel, \\Till and $rank, .on the London
road; Mrs. Harrigan (J'osep'hine) of
Lucan; and Johin of McKillop. She
has one sister still living in the Old
Country. The funeral was held on
Good Friday .frotn 'St. James' church,
to St. James' cemetery. Rev. Fr,
Goetz •officiated. The pallbearers- were
six grandsons, Vincent, John, James
and Thomas, sons of Mr. John Lane;
and Andrew and Mervin, sons of Mr;
Thomas Lane.
