Parks, who 'has been ill the past three months, is able to be out again, Mr. Thomas Daly purchased the late Mrs. Drake's house on High street at the auction sale on Saturday. Mr, W. L. Watson, of the Bank of Commerce staff, Toronto, who was spending part of his holidays at hia home during last week, has returned, Mr, W. Black, M.P., is home from Ottawa for Easter. Miss 'Gretta Ross leaves on Thurs- day for New York and Atlantic City on the teachers' annhai excursion. 'Rev. W. D. McDonald is its River- dale visiting his father, Mrs. W. The Ladies' Aid and W.M.S. neet- ing held at the home of Mrs. Robt. Campbell last Wednesday afternoon was well attended, The meeting opened by singing I-Iymn 278 and all repeating • the Beatitudes, Mrs. C. Pullen presided. The Scripture lesson was react by Mrs. Grieve and Mess- enger prayer by Mrs. A. Ross. An essay on Shanghai and Christian Literature was given by Mrs. G. Eaton, followed by prayer by Mrs. J. H. Morrison. The business meeting opened and several items of business discussed, The W. NI, S. allocation for this year is $150, Mrs. Alien Ross was appointed as a delegate 'to attend the provincial W. With thnch regret we learned of the death of Mrs. Susan Ross, of Toronto, who passed away in the , General hospital, Toronto, rafter a , long illness. The late Mrs. Ross re- sided on the 8th concession of Mc- Killop for a number of years, her husband having died several years ago, F'oitr children arc left to mourn her loss, William of Hallett, Earl and Finlay in the West and Mrs, Weiland (Jean) of Toronto, with whom[ she has been ntakittg her home these last few years, The funeral was held on Tuesday from the home of her sister, Mrs, Wm. Davidson, of Sea - forth, to Maitland Bank cemetery. Our deepest sympathy goes out to those that tritium. • We are sorry to hear that Mrs. Frank 'Finnigan is on the sick list and is 'being treated in Seaforth hos- pital. Little Margaret Montgomery is confined to her bed .with sickness. We hope she will be up in •a few days. Mrs. W. C. Bennett has returned home after spending a few days with friends in Blyth. Miss Grace Scarlett, of Hensal'1, spent the week -end with her parents. Mr. 'Thomas Robinson, of Strat- ford, called on his sister, Mrs. Geo. Little, last week. Messrs. Ferg. Bullard, Geo, Eaton, Tier Eaton and Elton Hoist are working on the C.P.R.'section at Walton. dvfr. Lester Govenlock, of Mitchell, called on friends in the village Sun- day. The farmers are busy on the land these days. Wedding bells will :be ringing this Saturday.
