Hewas engaged in cutting hay and while trying to throw the cutter out of gear his right hand was drawn into the rollers. Be- fore he could stop the knives 'his hand was drawn to so .far that it\was cut off at the wrist and 'the forearm so 'badly mangled above the wrist that part of it had to be amputated. Watson suffered terrible agony be- fore medical relief was obtained. Judging by the feeling of the iocat citizens towards the new town hall, as 'shown by the plebiscite 'taken Monday, the new council will prob- ably forego the matter Inc'another year. The majority was only a dozen for the new building. The 'citizens and business men as a rule agree. that -a new municipal 'building is' necessary and feel that if something more definite as to cost' and situa- tion had been included itt the vote, the result 'might 'have been different, The Boll also showed that the local ratepayers do, not think their servants worthy of their hire.
